I was surprised at just how much I loved FF13. Didn't expect to like it much, but the battle system is excellent and the story was good and well paced. Looking forward to FF13-2, preordered the Crystal Edition.

No, just no. Kingdom Hearts 1 was enjoyable because you get to meet and fight alongside disney characters from your childhood. The japanese characters were shitty cliches, but it didn't matter because they weren't really the focus. The rest of the series is awful, less fun disney and more retarded japanese story.

Nomura is a terrible story teller and director, kingdom hearts and advent children are proof of this. I have no faith in Versus being any good at all.

Warning: The game is mostly a massive hallway, there is a lot of telling and not showing (especially with the amount of codec reading you have to do to fully understand the setting) and any potential the story has doesn't get realized. The game is a huge JRPG tutorial that gives you less freedom than any JRPG before it. Combine that with feeling handicapped when you're stuck with only sets of two characters in a three character battle system for most of the early game, it becomes unreplayable after you beat it once.

Fast-paced battle system, though.

I played XIII when it came out and I didn't like it much.
Then I played about a year or more later and I realized I was bandwagon-ing, because the game is actually really very good, in pretty much every element, the story is actually REALLY good, along with the FNC universe they created, the datalog does such a good job of explaining it all. The cutscenes are all very well done and have a good meaning, (Snowe and Hope posing as "terrorists," the holographic show of the warrior killing the Fal'Cie like it is some kind of demon or monster, and how he is a hero, and all the kids have to watch it so they learn at a young age - FALCIE IS BAD THEY DO BAD THINGS KILL THEM. The only setbacks were... no limit break like moves, and not being able to control my characters with a slower battle option.
