  • /mu/'s favorite bro deadmau5 is hanging out here: http://boards.4chan.org/mu/res/21004009

Two of three migrations down, one to go. Expect some short downtime tomorrow afternoon or evening. Site should be much faster already.
Feedback welcome on AIM at SN "MOOTCHAT"

Server migration complete. New hardware brought online should make things noticeably faster. Enjoy!
PS: Some more goodies coming later this week.

If you change the first letter of "Eragon" to a D, you get "Dragon".

In the book, he gains control of a dragon.

    Mind fuck general?

Dark Souls is alright. Basically a bunch of creatures/dead guy/Gwynn find the souls of lords underground. They get powerful, rebel against the dragons, and Gwynn sacrifices himself to link bonfires which make people undead or some shit that is never explained. One dragon turns traitor after getting a lord souls. Basically you are the inheritor of the weakest Lord Soul called the Pygmy. Basically it means you never go insane after dying when undead. You eventually kill all the holders of the lord souls, steal them, and kill Gwynn who is now some super zombie. After that you either sacrifice yourself exactly like Gwynn did or you go on to be epic overlord and savior of mankind. Either way you killed the traitor dragon which leaves the boss from Kingsfield unopposed to recreate a dragon army and totally conquer mankind all over again.

I've tried to avoid using it every time, like if it's a conversation, I'll write "replied" instead, but it's at least good to start conversations with something like that to give the reader an idea of who's saying what. I kind of like Douglas Adams's approach when two characters are conversing where he'd set who's saying what, and then alternate in a back and forth fashion by having each person's conversation on a separate line.

good idea, starting a little neutral then adding detail as the convo goes on

i suppose too much spice ruins something the same as not enough spice does.

I honestly prefer his Garret PI books to the Black Company books. Reading a Black Company book just makes me depressed for days. I will readily admit that Petty Pewter Gods and on are shit though.

In other news, I'm always surprised Bazil Broketail has never been adapted into a movie, since the first book essentially has a perfect movie plot. Plus, it's a book series where talking dragons are used like motherfucking tanks in combined arms battles against the hordes of darkness. What's not to like?
