The
thing is, that military shooters (i.e. american army propaganda) come
out every year now, at least one game from each major franchise. And
anything different about the previous games, or between the series is
graphics.
The kids who play FPS games now have grown up playing
these games. They rarely even know about, say, UT games, with no perks,
leveling and other social networking bullshit. And developers know that,
and they just clone and clone the same REALISTIC TACTICOOL shooters,
because the kids eat it up.
I fucking LOVE Painkiller, but sadly,
there's no new ones these days. Bulletstorm and DNF fell short of
expectations, and I can already say that SS3 won't either. Prey 2
suddenly became some kind of cyberpunk-ish parkour game, I never asked
for this.
I'm not blaming all on the modern gamers, they just
don't any chance experience in the future something like I did. That's
because of greedy companies, that now run the gaming "industry". But I
do blame these players for not thinking outside the box, trying
something new (well, something old, actually), and supporting the
mindless cloning with high sale numbers. |
