Think a 4x game like MOO, Gal Civ etc.
its
kinda hard to compare it to any specific game because its unique but
I'll try to compare it to Gal Civ - in some aspects like Diplomacy its a
more watered down Gal Civ, in other aspects it surpasses Gal Civ - for
example Dynamic research.
heres a rundown of the highlights from the game:
-Random
events that can make and break you, A.I. Rebellions and Swarms of
nano-replicating locus can fuck you up - or fuck up the enemy (Actually,
there is some played who adapted A.I. Rebellion as a suicide tactic -
if you're losing then try to make A.I. rebel in your Empire and hope
that they will attack your enemy more then you.
-Chance-based
Tech tree, the tech tree isn't static like in all the other games -
there is a chance you might hit a dead end so you cant just rush to the
best Beam weapon - you might get stoped 1, or two or even several tiers
below it. this forces you to adapt which makes for a fun game.
-Fuel requirements - you cant just send out an fleet to the otherside of the galaxy without fuel. |
