Does for me. The graphics might not be pretty, but the style means you don't feel it's ugly. The gameplay is still solid(pun not inteded), and the controls don't feel clunky like other ps1 games does today. I'd say it has aged well.

I like the GC version, but I still don't think it's better than the original. I AM a little biased, because I fell in love with the original at a younger age, and it changed the way I played games.

But there are so many small gripes I have with the GC version that make it not quite live up to the original:
-None of the original music (except "The Best is Yet to Come)
-The game wasn't built with MGS2 mechanics in mind, so most of the difficulty is fucked
-They didn't get Gray Fox's voice actor to do Gray Fox, even though he reprised his role as the DARPA Chief (and I felt he put so much more emotion into the role)
-As hilariously awesome as some of the slow mo shit is, it really doesn't fit the game very well.

Also if Twin snakes does one thing right, it shows how Ocelot gets considerably better in each cutscene using his left hand after it's cut off.

And the added FPS mode actually worked against the ocelot fight, and they even had to increase the size of the building where you fight Sniper wolf because of it.

It's filled with matrix shit because unimaginative people think action sequences are what make things better.

Just look it up on Youtube. As a huge Metal Gear Solid fan, it didn't kill my love of the remake, but there's definitely some "Oh, come on!" moments where you wonder why anyone thought that would fit the atmosphere of the game.

i prefer twin snakes to the original, after playing with updated mechanics i can't play it on psx anymore.

Also, in the first area, if you alert the soldiers, he jumps in the water. Which annoyed me after, because you couldn't jump over those stairs, and had to take the elevator
