So, looks like we got the Borderlands patch today. What it does is send Gearbox statistics about which weapons are most used, which areas are most visited and things like that; so that they can work out what players like the most and use that to make BL2 better.

Bump, let's get some Broderlands General going.

I reached 69 on my Hunter, gonna do some Farmory runs and then continue doing Moxxi's to get a few more skill points to finish my build off with.

I think it was for all platforms. I remember reading a week or so ago that the patch was coming, and then when I started the game via Steam earlier a EULA thing came up asking if I agreed to it sending anonymous usage statistics to the developers.

Not sure if the patch was for anything else other than that. Hopefully they haven't randomly fixed Farmory or something, lol.

She drops the Patton if you've already turned in the quest, and in playthrough 2.5 with the new patch, you can get it level scaled to 69. The best part though is that it can sometimes come equipped with the Masher barrel, but keeping the damage boost and stuff that Patton has.

But I never did, since I wanted to farm the chests. But due to... *shenanigans*, I also have the two marcus loot quests in my log (likely picked up from some guys in online), and I'm pretty sure that I'd end up completing them all at once, locking myself out.

So I guess the short of it is, is there any way to get my scaled chests short of starting a brand new character?

Just bought the game and all the dlc. Having a blast. Started playing brick with a friend (Mordekai or however you spell it) and then after we got to lvl 13 or so we wanted to see what the other classes are like. HOLYFUCKINGDOGBALLFUCKERS is the fucking soldier awesome. My friend grabbed the siren and I'm all ERECTAN A TURRET THAT GIVES YOU AMMO BACK wow is he fucking fun.

Brick's fisting is pretty sweet but there is just something about the turret that just feels stronger. On top of that I couldn't find ANY good guns for brick. I'm sure that didn't help.

Siren looks really fucking strong. Phasing in and out doing fucking damage each way and dazing motherfuckers.

Just got a third friend to buy it and found some other guys who have it. Never playing solo, just bro-op and it's fun as fuck. Only a few hours spent in it and highest character is 15 brick I think.

Love the game so far. Love the art style. Love he bosses, the comedy, all the subtle puns.

Any tips for a n00b though? Anything i should keep in mind or anything? Also if anyone has time, how do the characters play later? Since each character can level up in any weapon is it really important if I want to weild X weapon mainly to be teh character that can power that weapon up in the skills??

most characters play similar at the end as how they did when they started.

But some particular notes about Brick:

    1) Come around the end of the first playthrough, his Berserk skill isn't that great, and you're better off investing in other trees

    2) Rocket Launchers aren't SUPER great in Borderlands, but it's still nice to have them. Brick will probably do better with good explosive elemental shotguns (not those rocket launcher shotguns, those are worse than regular launchers), machine guns, and even SMGs.

You're right that any character can use any weapon, but some characters just do really well with their suggested weapons.

My Mordecai has his 480x7 Masher, with good accuracy, the skills that ignore shields, gives a good chance of causing 480x14, increase pistol damage, increase critical hit damage, and a class mod that increases damage 55% all for a single shot (and I have pretty good firing rate) may be able to out-damage her. Wait, I just thought of something. Do parts alter the crosshairs? I think I've seen it on different weapons (but is most apparent on sniper rifles) that even if they have the same accuracy stat, the crosshairs you have when not using sights can be larger or smaller. My Defiler has 96.7 Accuracy, I think, but the crosshairs are so close together that it has near perfect center shots at great distances even when not zoomed. My Defiler has a uniform lighter blue colored parts if that is supposed to be good.

Machine pistols can be good, but repeaters are usually lackluster unless its like the pearlescent or firehawk. Even machine pistols are pretty "meh" though, in my opinion. I have a Machine Pistol that does 404 damage with a firing rate of like 16 on my Mordecai, but I never use it. Compared to my Masher revolver, or other revolvers, it just doesn't feel good to me. I guess it just isn't my style. It definitely does good damage (it unloads all 30 rounds in about a second with a good gunslinger mod) with its 404 damage, but the recoil makes it impossible for them all to be crits, though recoil actually isn't too bad. I guess I just like being able to get that perfect shot with my revolver.

It's an orange rocket launcher, but I don't remember it's name. the description in red either said something about a "horde", or something about "rising (or falling...)". And it does 3400+ damage for a single rocket if I remember correctly.

Most of the Mordecai stuff isn't very good.

Mostly because Yang draws him like he's black.

    Almost.

I really hope a new one pops up soon.

I love Mordecai. He reminds me of husband. Same attitude, smirk, and appearance, if he shaved off his moustache. I used to have a decent drawing ability, but then I got into 3D design, and pretty much all the action my tablet sees is texture modifying, and zbrush. I should try making some art. Better yet, I should get my hands on the Borderlands models. Poke around, see if there's anything under his mask. Make nude version, etc. Thanks for inadvertently inspiring me.

Lilith's original look. Replaced with red head, and it was used for Steele.

Same thing happened with Mordecai and Reaver.

I was only sad about the Roland change.

Don't really see why they couldn't have just let us choose between a few models, the characters never fucking show up in any fucking thing ever anyway.

i've been debating finally starting the Secret Armory.
I'm on my 2nd playthru, should I finish PT2 before starting Knoxx?
    >> Anonymous 09/09/11(Fri)07:55 No.109663488
    >>109663342

Yeah. PT2 Knoxx starts at level 51, and doesn't scale when you enter the Vault, unlike the other DLCs. So start it at around lvl 51-54.

If you're higher than that you should probably do it immediately, cause it will be too easy later on.

Any brotips for getting good class mods? I was thinking of going to every med vendor and then exiting and doing it again, but it turns out they're capped at lvl 55. Is Farmory the only good option?
    >> Anonymous 09/09/11(Fri)08:07 No.109664195
    >>109663342

Can't recall exactly, but I think if you at least enter the area before the vault, or the vault itself, everything everywhere including the Knoxx DLC scales to match your level.

People refer to it as playthrough 2.5. You can even just leave the Destroyer alone and come back later and he will scale.
