if you're shooting based on visual reaction you're already too late. People who are "good" know the areas where people are likely to be at certain times and are effectively primed for action there. OP, you need to aim for the head. Going around a corner? Be aiming where an enemies head would be. Also, learn when to run and when to walk.Don't be one of those retards who stomp around like elephants looking for the watering hole. The recoil isn't too awful and you can spray at medium range pretty well, but until you learn the recoil I suggest you stick to quick bursts. All the guns are different but remember to always try to get the first shot on the head and then start working your way down when the recoil starts to kick in. AK is ohk for headshots and so is the deagle. CS is not some "uber hard" game like a lot of people here make it out to be, it's just that most people suck at games in general. Keep playing and you'll get around to it fairly quickly depending on how much experience you have with FPS

If you actually care about K/D ratio there are a few things you might want to know.

I actually got good at CS when i started using hacks.
got so far that i fucking knew where the people were without seeing them and i am still getting banned for using hacks when really i am not. when i use the hacks, i never get banned. ever.

also, once i had a pretty much perfect hack that showed a point where the next bullet will go, so now i also know how the recoil goes for most weapons (for example, for the ak47 it goes a bit higher and then goes right, left, right, left and so on. swithces on about 6 bullets or so) and so i got pretty much unbeatable on 1v1 quick battles.

You have to work as a team, there are lots of positions and everyone must do what the have to do.

Things like deploying turrets, defending the base generators, defending the base inventories, attacking the base generators.

Deploying remote inventories, repairing assets, bombing the enemy base, defending the base from bombers and other vehicles and LOTS OF THINGS.

There is teamwork in pub servers too but if you are really good you should start joining comp. even more attention is needed there.


Don't forget to play the tutorials first.

Also this game is fast paced and has lots of mods, I think you will also enjoy that.

One, it's still possible to Bunny Hop, though it's very difficult and you can't reliably do it anymore.
Two, if you're T, use glock until you get money to m249.
If you're CT, use D.Eagle until you get money to m249.

This game was released in like 2001, tribes 1 in 1998.
I found about tribes 2 in 2008 and it's really the best fps I could find.

Again, it doesn't have many players but there are still enough to have good games every day.

Some people are here from 1998, so yeah, veterans don't really leave this game so yeah, I don't think the game is going to die at all.

The most popular server is goon haven, there are servers with other mods too.

At nights the goon haven server haves like 60 players online so that's 30vs30.

Been a long time since I've played CS:S but back in the day I got so good that I was known by name on several servers people fucking loved watching me play.

I was unpredictable with my rushes. A lot of it is knowing the maps too. I was a fucking rapist on office as T because people always expected either a garage zerg or a turtle. They never saw my FB in the front yard and mac 10 spray in the stairwell.

All I can really recommend is be unpredictable, especially since the game is so old, if people are seasoned they are going to pop you with precision accuracy as soon as you turn that corner they knew someone was going to turn.

It's highly dependent on how you play. You can stat boost etc.
If you're an absolutely perfect shot and you burst with an AK in 3's every time, you'll end up with roughly 33% acc. But you can spray for days up close and get a 80+ acc with a sub just by the amount you hit vs miss by going for center mass.
It's possible to muck with your stats by changing your playstyle.

So many people are caught up in the past. When CSS first came out it was called a scrub spray and pray shooter because the hitboxes were changed from CS. It was less competitive than CS, which was the major FPS predecessor to it.

Current generation FPS games have taken this style of development to the next level, and current games are even MORE "scrubby" than CSS was compared to CS.

Comparitively, CSS requires less skill than CS, but more skill than arguably ANY current generation FPS game.

People boast about their stats in online play ALL THE TIME. Every video game that has ever publicly recorded player statistics has had a community that obsesses over them. People COMPLAIN about games that DON'T record stats on every little thing they do, and they LOVE when they have a little page that records everything they have done.

Your definition of deadly accurate and mine are two different things. Your definition means hitting the broad side of a fucking barn. Mine means hitting exactly where I want it to or so close to exact it's considered precise, see AK single shot for this definition. Deagle can't even pretend to be remotely close to that, even the other pistols are more precise than the deagle by far. I expect bullets to hit what I fucking aim for every time and the deagle does not perform to that spec in any way shape or form, nor does it do so most of the time.
