i know that i will sound like a faget but my first metroid was fusion and it was good, then the prime trilogies then super then zero mission, but mi point is that fusion have good gameplay and gives a feeling of a triller with sa-x, but i totally see why people like a non linear stile metroid, but i love both.

I wouldn't say I liked Other M, but I certainly didn't hate it.

I enjoyed the story and acting, but thought the gameplay was atrocious. I didn't think the story devalued Samus as a 'bad ass' at all, because without some sort of flaw (in her case the mother complex) she's just another silent space marine.

Also, everything in Other M already had a precedent in the series, but no one remembers since Retro didn't really touch Samus in their trilogy, and that was everyone's most recent exposure to the series.

What angers me is a lack of Kraid.
Like, no one even cares to remember him. I found it awesome when I saw the Beta Prime model of him. And I loved the detail of his helmet due to the fact he was blasted with missiles to the face in previous games.

I don't honestly know if I got some enjoyment out of Other M. I played through it twice once on hard mode and beat it, but I fucking hate it. I guess it's alright for a playthrough, but fuck what it did to the series.

It has no exploration, no music, the plot is something I could have written in elementary school, the combat is shallow and consists of DODGE CHARGE SHOT DODGE CHARGE SHOT, the stupid eye spy first person segments are painfully shoehorned in, and don't even get me started on the fucking horrible NES controls.

I played through it probably because I felt like I had to, but the whole damn game feels so drab and so unlike Metroid.

I'm thinking of collecting guides for Prime and Super that are in other languages since they have different art in different countries for the guides.

My first game was Metroid Prime and fuck, that feeling when you first enter Phendrana Drifts. Then i played Zero Mission and beat it twice using the guide to get 100% endings (how should i know that you have to shoot random walls to get power ups)

Never beaten the original without cheats. even after beating it normally i can't beat mother brain and then you start over with only 30 health points so fuck that.

Anyone else love the shit out of Anthony Higgs? I want to see him in the next Metroid, establish him as a main character (something that Metroid seriously lacks), and finally making Smash Bros, with a moveset that's a cross of his Other M repetoire and a Federation Trooper.

I actually didn't hate fusion as much as I had been expecting I would. I suppose I had the benefit of playing AFTER playing Other M, so the usual complaints people always had brought up about the game suddenly didn't seem so glaring. And besides, Fusion haad the funnest, most challenging bosses in the series.

Reggie has even outright stated he felt severe backlash from the fans and realizes shit went wrong with Other M.

I want someone from the team to rise up and outright state that the game is not canon.

It will put people to ease.

I love the fuck out of Metroid, and I personally can't wait for a new one. I used to have every Zelda game and have them beaten, and same with Metroid. I started falling behind once the GBA Zelda games came out. But I've always kept on top of the Metroid games.

Fusion tends to get way more recognition these days, it's really a great game.
Fun fact: point blank, your charge beam does even more damage than a super missile in Fusion.

The first I knew of samus was super smash bros, and since the n64 was my first console (No metroids in that gen) I didn't know anything of metroid.

Didn't even know samus was a girl till I look her bio up.

First metroid game was Prime, second was fusion, and 3rd was hunters.

All 3 were awesome and not a single fuck was given.

I always considered F-Zero and Metroid in the same universe. It just makes too much sense for Captain Falcon to be a Bounty Hunter too, and F-Zero racing to be a popular sport of the Galactic Federation.
