the weird part is that they made him look significantly less cute by doing this and didn't even make him look cool or anything, he just comes off as a generic platform game enemy that you take out in one hit.

usually characters like this are either made cuter or cooler or both. if you look at your picture and compare it to the old my little ponies from the 80s you can tell the intent was to intensify the cute features to the point where it looks less like a drawing of a pony and more like a drawing of a drawing of a pony (but that's totally fine imo)

That's pretty sad. I'm honestly not a big fan of platformers anymore, so I can't say I'd be into it if it didn't look like it was going to suck, but c'mon man. I can still replay the originals and have them all on my PC right now. I remember fighting with my friend about how Spyro was better than Crash because even if they were different enough, that was the thing at the time of the PSX. The character design looks stupid, but I do like the idea of having multiple characters to mess with. Too bad there's so many of them that they'll all be under developed.
