Lots
of people go without dressing up. It's generally advisable to spend a
fair bit of time on a costume if you want it to be any good, or just
pick an anime character that already looks a lot like you and wears
fairly normal clothes.
My L cosplay? A bit of shitty makeup, a white shirt, and jeans. Easy.
Something like pic related is a lot more difficult.
Also,
I suggest that everyone go to an animecon, in cosplay or not. Shits
fun. Forget about doing it to fuck, it's really a fun experience. Also,
don't let the name fool you; most animecons are now a mix of anime,
sci-fi, horror, comics and videogames. So, there will always be
something for you to enjoy. Lots of people to meet and stuff to do.
At
anime north I went to a few panels. I was at the videogame soundtrack
panel, the KH panel (the girl in the pic here was one of the leaders,
along with a Leon and a generic Org. 13 member), and I was at a classic
anime screening. It was a lot of fun. |
