Ugh, yes please. I adore my OTPs but development and interaction with other characters makes them more well-rounded as characters as a whole. But we do have to remember Oriko Magica's volume 1 cover; we thought there was gonna be way more MamiKyou than there actually was.

Also, not /u/, but I hope something develops Kamijou and Hitomi's relationship even before the confession. Just so I like it more, and then focus on KyoukoxSayaka with peace of mind.

It was still a decent amount of MamiKyou, all things considered. And I think it was written before the Drama CD, which officially cemented their relationship prior.

Now that the info's out there, I'm hoping this one has them play off each other more.

Also hoping the MadoSaya volume does indeed feature both of them as MGs. We've never actually seen them fight together aside from the Drama CD and PSP game.

Everyone knows Long Range and Melee Tank classes make the best duos.

From a recap of the anime series? The most they can do is extend episode 10 on the second movie.

It almost sounded conceivable until the last couple of lines. Then it just went full BS territory.

I'm all for them throwing a curveball during one of the big iconic moments of suffering. Doesn't have to undo said suffering, merely delay it, but it would be nice just to see how they would handle the change.

They were shitty enough that she decided to train and acquire additional musket skills, on the offensive side they must have sucked big time. Though binding your opponent must have been practical, still 3.5 just seems like a bit too much if it really just describes her ribbon powers. Who knows, maybe she initially had some hidden other magic power we never saw.
However, I'm actually more irritated by Kyouko's 0. Does that mean she trained for all her magic skills, even the mind trick stuff she should have acquired as a passive trait from her wish?

If all this information is accurate, I'd bet Mami's initial power level is high because of either stuff we didn't see or changes made during production. Probably the latter, since Kyouko supposedly started out with sweet persuasion and illusion powers, not a zero.

Her ribbons weren't that bad, though. Mami said in the PSP game that she wanted ranged weapons so she could fight even if she were so scared she froze on the spot. She didn't just work on muskets because of power levels.

Assuming it's the former, Homura's goal of getting rid of Walpurgisnacht without involving Madoka should have been quite doable with a little team work. Can't you just imagine a timeline where she becomes Mami's best friend or even a girlfriend to give her a reason to live after the witch reveal, while also working closely with Madoka to help Sayaka get over her rejection and enter a relationship with Kyouko. Then she sacrifices them one by one to kill Walpurgisnacht, leaving her in perfect position to be comforted by Madoka.

I know that her timestop is great, but I took "initial magic" to mean the amount of actual magical power she has. If I remember correctly, Homura has the weakest magical power (which might explain why she fights with mundane weapons instead of summoning her own witchcraft weaponry like the other girls).

This is actually not true. In the manga Mami explicitly states she can feel Homura's very strong magically speaking. She says something a little more vague in the anime, but it still implies the same.

I think Homura has more magical powers than any of the girls except Madoka, but it's pretty much all directed into her time hax, so she comes across are rather weak overall. That's the only way I can rationalize Mami's assessment of Homura's magic (unless she's BSing, but Mami wouldn't do that).

Interesting, this looks more like it. They divided them in 1-8 and 9-12 and almost everything got revamped, music, dialogue, witches, transformation scenes. The endings seems quite mysterious with the womb and all of that. Being the first movie, and even if it's adequately nicknamed "Sayaka's story" it still seems worth watching, but the second movie is where all of my attention will be.

...Well, she was the fastest meguca to kill a witch and/or save someone. Kyouko's first witch escaped and Mami accidentally let some poor little boy die.

These sort of comparisons are kinda unfair, though, because Sayaka's completely untrained and the other girls either have at least a few months on them or are (un-)naturally supertalented. So she's definitely the weakest but it's an unbalanced scale.

Surprised that people are surprised. Sayaka is obviously Gen's favorite character.

Why do you think she suffers so much?

Based on the testimony of those who saw the screening in Japan, the first movie establishes itself as "Sayaka's Story", which is exactly as it should be since it covers episodes 1-8. Sounds like she got the most work done in regards to animation, screen time, etc, and the voice actress reportedly does a better job too.

So in regards to pic, fuck them for not including the best costume. Even if there are no sword users in Xillia 2, they still should have included the costume.

Maybe they'll milk it with a 2nd costume pack consisting of Sayaka, Kyouko, Goddoka and a Charlotte accessory.
