Y'know. I've been hearing people people crap on Iron Man 3 on here a whole lot lately. I haven't seen it yet (Amerifat here) but from what I hear it's another awesome Shane Black written film like Lethal Weapon, The Long Kiss Goodnight or The Last Boy Scout.

I thought it was good for Iron Man. Not as funny in the same way as 1 or 2, but better in others. Was highly disappointed about the mandarin reveal due to the hype and hope for Ben Kingsley being awesome, but he still did great for what he got. Guess that's why he's Sir. Was never going to be Kiss Kis,s Bang Bang with explosions though.

Tonally inconsistent with Iron Man 1-2, and Shane Black can't write Stark's character for shit. Gone is the charming, charismatic play-boy from Iron Man 1-2, and in his place is an annoying and obnoxious faggot.

You know the post-credits sequence which people wait for? It's Stark telling Mark Ruffalo what happened, but Ruffalo is asleep. NOTHING happens in that sequence, and the entire thing is played for laughs.

That's how I'd sum up Iron Man 3, nothing happens and it's played for laughs. I thought this was going to be a substantial, grim-dark Iron Man chapter where some heavy shit goes down, but Shane Black is too much of a hack for that.

his iron man suit is basically magic now. a face mask flies thousands of miles without a powersource, unless you think the facemask contains an arc reactor.

I was planning on never watching it, but then I saw Shane Black had control of the screenplay and direction. There's a lot of love and a lot of bashing, so I don't what to think really beforehand; I'll keep my expectations low. I'll download when it becomes available, which hopefully is not too far from now... ?

It's got a lot of bashing because it's very much a comedy-based, tongue-in-cheek, light-hearted, buddy-cop Shane Black movie, and that's not what people wanted from Iron Man 3.

It's a decent enough movie by itself, but it's a terrible Iron Man movie.
