I have SuddenLink cable, and all the channels that you're talking about are 300+. Here's a breakdown of what I have:
Destination America
>about half and half in terms of reality shows and documentaries, but some of the reality stuff is actually pretty decent
The Science Channel
>pretty much what you'd expect
>lots of documentaries
>lots of How It's Made, How Do They Do It?, etc. educational shows
>lots of shows about the planets and space and stuff
>almost everything is science related
>they're doing a FireFly special even reunion/discussion this month as bonus
Military Channel
>mostly documentaries that have something to do with the military
>they'll have shows teaching you about guns and stuff, but lots of historical documentaries too
BBC America
>world news is top notch, pretty sure it's the same thing they show in the UK
>some great documentary series, including Planet Earth
>other stuff is just top notch TV like Star Trek, Doctor Who, and Top Gear
History 2
>almost 24/7 documentaries
>some great infotainment series
>lots of conspiracy theories, paranormal stuff, and religious docs
Biography Channel
>lots of great stuff on people
>they do a lot of specials on movies and stuff, the Harry Potter ones were ace
Military History Channel
>kind of the same stuff as the Military Channel, but it's owned by the History Channel
Cooking Channel
>has some stupid Chef Cooks Food type of shit that you see on expanded basic, but there's a lot of good travel and informational shows too
Crime Channel
>has a lot of good Dateline-esque stuff
>they show some good crime docs too
>does have reality shows, but it's mostly where they follow SWAT around, so it's like COPS on crack
So anyway, the point of this is that you need to move past expanded basic, because that's real shit-tier TV.
