So, new here.
From /mu/, although I do love some film.
Big fan of Sam Raimi, but never seen this, how is it?
>>
It's pretty fun. Some people really hate it for some reason so maybe you should be careful.
>>
it's pretty good.
>>
It has a pretty awesome goat
>>
>>33626408
awww man that goat
>>
>>33626507
>artificial goat
Keep your cgi pleb shit
>>
It's shit. As are most of Raimi's films after Evil Dead 2 and Darkman. Spider-Man 2 and Army of Darkness are passable.
>>
just remember the journey is more than the destination.

in other words the ending sucks but the rest of the movie is pretty good.
>>
>>33626542
so op sees that we're not the only ones who have dem superior patricians
>>
it's good.
>>
It's a very fun and funny movie. It's more campy gross-out and laughs than actual horror. I really liked it.
>>
>>33626322 (OP)

Is dat ASR?
>>
I thought it was really fucking bad but apparently a lot of people like it.
I guess if you like Sam Raimi you'd like it...

Seriously though I can't believe how relatively well regarded it is.
>>
It's a really fun watchable horror movie Those that hated it, probably took it too seriously.
>>
>>33626664
I can't believe how angry it makes some people.
>>
>>33626684
this. Its a very good film if you dont take it seriously
>>
>>33626657
no
>>
>>33626664
It's not that it was real good, it's just it wasn't particularly bad in any one area. For a horror movie that puts it in the top 10% of the genre.

Picture related should be right up your alley pleb
>>
>>33626735
Hey its just like home.
Its just the board I frequent the most cause I love talking music, yet reddit's too fucking dumb.
>>
I think it's the scariest movie ever made
>>
>>33626735
You're the one who saved the pic.
>>
People who hated it probably just don't understand how Sam Raimi works. It's a lot like Evil Dead 2, in a good way.
>>
>>33626693
I don't often get really riled up about movies but this is one of the few exceptions.
I can only assume it's because Raimi is one of those people who gets heaps of praise no matter what he shits out.
I admit I did watch it in a crappy motel room during a really shitty christmas so that definitely didn't help.
>>
neo/tv/ everyone!

Speaking of Raimi, what was the consensus on this?
On a scale of 1 to Unreachable Poster Hype where'd it go?
>>
>>33627042
8. Best remake since The Thing
>>
>>33627042
5/10 for me
>unlikable/bland characters
>mediocre story
>gore was overhyped
Worth a watch if you're a raimi/horror fan i guess.
>>
>>33627065
If you're talking about the carpenter movie then "The Fly" is better. If you're talking about the thing they made in 2011 then fuck you.
>>
>>33627132
The carpenter movie breh
>>
>/mu/
Are you only here because this is happening
>>33627047 →
Please get a trip
>>
>>33627042
I loved the movie, Fuck /tv/
>>
>>33627132
What was so bad about the 2011 movie? I thought it was well done and didn't shit on the original one too bad.
>>
>>33627197
>I loved the movie, Fuck quality cinema
>>
>>33627178
I actually had no idea this was happening...I don't even like p4k....or scaruffi....
>>
>/mu/

Do any of you faggots actually play an instument or do you just sit around discussing the latest pop bullshit all the time? I went there once expecting it to be full of instrument threads and talking about chords, singing, bandleading, you know, music shit.

instead all I got was faggots talking about justin bi-bear and katy mcbigtits.
>>
>>33626725
this is code for 'it's good if you ignore how terrible it is'

how seriously can you take a movie about demons and curses

this is just a run of the mill horror, nothing special about it
>>
>nothing makes a difference: the movie

Why even watch something that is pointless?
>>
>>33627266
some people play laptops
>>
I loved it. The closest thing you'll get to the original Evil Dead.
>>
Christopher Young makes great movie scores. Him and Cliff Martinez are my favorites.
>>
>>33627266
>/tv/

Do any of you faggots actually make films or do you just sit around discussing the latest waifu bullshit all the time? I went there once expecting it to be full of camera threads talking about composition, framing of shots, audio recording, you know, film shit.

Instead all I got was faggots talking about Selena Gomez and their fatfus
>>
>>33627247
>quailty cinema
>only films i like are good
>>
>>33627266
We basically just circlejerk around a set number of album while a lot of daily/by-daily threads make the rounds (3x3's), not a lot of pop...every once in a while intelligent discussion gets thrown in there.
>>
>>33626322 (OP)
Why all these personal details? You're anonymous.

DM2H is fucking awesome.

>>
>>33627266

its mostly people turn table and indie crap
>>
>>33627254
Confirmed for p4kdrone
pls stick to music
>>
>>33626592
There's nothing wrong with the ending.
>>
>>33626322 (OP)
If you love Raimi you'll love it.
Most people expect a horror, aren't used to the comedy, it leaves them feeling betrayed and stupid.
>>
>>33627368

Other than it invalidates the entire film.
>>
>>33627119
>gore was overhyped
It's a pg-13 film.
>>
There hasnt been a single good horror movie ever made
>Fact - They are all garbage
>>
>>33626592
You're a tard I loved the ending.
>>
>>33627336
I've lurked both since 2011 and they both suck. Can't stay on either board longer than 30 minutes.
>>
>>33627336
This perfectly describes /tv/ as well, just replace the music nomenclature with equivalent film nomenclature.
>>
>>33627384
Explain.>>33627398
>>
>>33627455

The Shining?
>>
>>33626735
many of those movies are great, so your point?
>>
>>33627398
It's easily the best genre of film.
>>
>>33627471
I accidentally clicked the second quoted post.

I mean: Explain why the ending invalidates the rest of the film.
>>
Aside from the CGI, if you like Sam Raimi's horror/comedy style, you will love this one.
>>
>>33627497

If the movie starts and ends at the same place then I consider that invalidation.
>>
Sam Raimi's my favorite director and I consider this to be among his best. I strongly recommend it. Watch it with a good group of people if you can.
>>
Drag Me To Hell is a fucking awesome movie. If you dislike it, I strongly suspect you don't like movies at all.

Turn it up loud. The sound effects editing is off the chain.
>>
>>33627247

>>
>>33626542
Face was CGI... model was KNB
>HURRR
>>
>>33626592
I disagree that the ending sucks. It's a bit ... anti-climactic, but in an appropriate and fitting way.

I do agree with the "the journey is more than the destination" outlook for this movie though. If you go into it with that in mind, you'll appreciate it more.
>>
>>33626592
The ending was fantastic
>>
>>33626322 (OP)

I love it but its pretty niche. If you like Evil Dead 2 or Slither then you'll like it.
