Simply Mad About the Mouse is a video created by Garen Entertainment and Stellar X Productions, produced and distributed by Buena Vista Home Video, the video arm of the Walt Disney Company.

Taking a large number of extracts Cult Disney, it does not shine, of course, by its originality. I must say that this is not the first time Disney reuses old animation to create video clips of contemporary music. The cartoon Mickey Mouse Disco has, in fact, preceded the concept while the Disney Channel show, DTV, did the same, using the process to the bone. Inspired by the famous music channel MTV, she suggested, it is true, clips or less recent most popular songs, mounted images of Disney animation, mainly from cartoons.

With its blend of archive, new animations using mainly rotoscope, and sequences "live" Simply Mad About the Mouse is still the most successful attempt ever undertaken by the Disney studios.

It comes alive on paper and gives life to fly out of the vault and into the world, where every time the paper change into a different Music Score of a song and goes into a Great Music Video.

Billy Joel, "When You Wish Upon A Star"
A Disney animator working on drawing a semi-realistic illustration of Joel is confused when the drawing comes alive. The sketchy, comic-book like Joel proceeds to saunters in-and-out of various scenes Disney features like Peter Pan, Snow White and More. The character never truly interacts with the existing animation. Joel even flies out of the animator's drawing board, blowing papers around in the animator's studio in his wake. A rotoscoped trumpet player also appears, coming down the animator's staircase. When the animator calls it a day, he starts to walk out of the room, ending up as a rotoscoped character on a Disney background painting himself. Twice in the video does Joel appear in live-action. There is also a black-and-white sequence of filmmakers in a studio at the start of the video, which relates little if any to the rest of the video.

Ric Ocasek, "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah"
There is little true plot to Ocasek's video, beyond the fact he appears in scenes from Fantasia, Alice in Wonderland, Song of the South, and even Dumbo's drunken hallucination from Dumbo. At least one short film is edited in. In the video is a non-speaking, non-interacting woman. He is transported in a computer-generated boat.

LL Cool J, "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?"
Perhaps the most unusual adaptation musically, LL Cool J's rapping about the Three Little Pigs, taking on the persona of both the wolf and third pig in first person, at various points in the rap. He is backed up by three African-American singers dancing, each with blonde wigs on, as well as one male backup dancer appearing in shots by himself. Cool J's lyrics mention he has no time to "dance or sing", contradictory to the fact he's appearing in a music video doing just that. One of the few times a major rapper has included the word "gay" in his rapping, and not meant "homosexual".

The sequence is somewhat difficult since the title is interpreted rap with a "Live" clip mostly in black-and-white, simply follow the singer and her dancers in the background. Certainly confusing despite a formal unoriginal pictures however, the song is not the most unbearable compilation

The Gipsy Kings: I've Got No Strings. The entire opus key, in fact, the background with this disappointing more than one way. Already, the song is totally unrecognizable to the point of doubting whether the Disney-based. Spanish as orchestration cause, it is true, an unpleasant feeling of disorientation. Then the clip resumes Spanish dances drawn and animated unrelated Disney. Finally, the Gipsy Kings are simply unbearable as they are the "Gipsy Kings" without bothering to comply with any Disney-signing.

Because for the I’ve Got No Strings Music Video, it’s done really good, it features a series of boldly colored animated sequences, with simplifed figures dancing to the Latin music. Most of the song is performed in Spanish. It’s an abstract music video with great rotoscoping animation on the dancers and the Gipsy Kings!

Harry Connick, Jr., "The Bare Necessities"
Connick appears as a nouveau-riche, happy-go-lucky millionaire in a house full of women and fancy parties. When repossessed, he remains care-free, claiming he can survive with the "bare necessities of life". In the video, the crew repossessing his house sings along with Connick, and dolly carts away some of the female guests. This video is by far the most elaborate in terms of set, extras, and choreography.

Harry Connick, Jr. recovering fortunately the bar with The Bare Necessities. Musically, the song is without doubt the most successful compilation. Intensifying the jazz side of the song, the voice of the singer crooner brings indeed greatly under. Side images, even if the relationship with Disney is not altogether clear, all going pretty well. Everything is well filmed "live" in the studio, with the most successful album of all decor and choreography. The Bare Necessities is certainly one of the best parts fills with babes, dancing, bubbles, repo man, cuddle up with girls, fancy shoes and dress and a special appearing by Victoria’s Secret Model’s Jill Goodacre aka Harry’s Wife.

Bobby McFerrin, "The Siamese Cat Song"
One of the most visually unique pieces on the album, an array of special effects create otherworldly environments to complement McFerrin's exceptional adaptation and performance. While images of the clip are, in fact, rather good quality, with a bias based psychedelic special effects and 3D imaging so well mastered, her singing is more than improved. For the strange thing, the sequence has not aged significantly, technological progress helping Nominated as one of several songs from this album for a Grammy, it blends music and state-of-the-art animation effects. Includes scenes from Lady and the Tramp, and Fantasia, with McFerrin singing.

Soul II Soul deliver a rasta interpretation of Kiss The Girl, taken from The Little Mermaid. Singers, "live" in a setting by drawing a desert island resuming overlays images of the film and some other disney films, that obviously do happen in a performance that should probably rather forget. And it made everybody dancing, even for that strange beautiful girl in a red dress.

Michael Bolton's world charm with a very respectful interpretation of A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes. His beautiful voice does wonders on pictures mainly "live" with excerpts from Cinderella keys. Disney-a desire to light and delicate sequence. This music video uses animation and special effects as projected landscapes that Michael Bolton performs in. A full orchestra supports his rich rendition while cascading classic images of the best of the Disney Vault wash the stage transforming the viewer inside the classic Disney Films footage intermixed with dancers performing behind the silk curtains rustling gently in a soft breeze and live action performance for walking in the curtians.
