I didn't get it. I LIKED season 3. I wondered what everyone was bitching about. So I went back, I watched the pilot, and I watched the rest.
Guys, the show changed in season 1. It started out with the first few episodes being this very funny well written but subtly grounded thing. A really intelligent show, and then the charactersturbation started, and everyone on the show became more and more drastic cartoons.
Chang's first scene was awesome, and he used to be this legitimately formidable teacher with a twist. Now he's not even a joke. He's a bad joke.
This show has gotten so inside itself it's become a black hole of weird quirks and in-jokes. An over the top cartoon both figuratively and now, literally.
I still love the characters, wherever they are inside this ridiculous bullshit. If they can't summon a single genuine or smart moment in an episode, it's time to hang it up.

Not a single cast member has the same personality that made them great from season one (inb4 you say character development)

Chevy hated the direction of his character, hence why he fell out with Harmon, he went from a funny some-what wise old guy that Jeff's rival and an all around evil guy.

The rest have all changed too, perhaps not Yvette, but her character is shit. Abed is by far the worst character, and his bromance with Troy is extremely annoying, Abed going full autism ruined his character and he's by far the worst one in the show these days.

It was also believable for the first season (except the paintball episode, but it wasn't that bad in terms of reality). Now the things that happen make no sense and shouldn't happen because it ruins the show, the 8 bit episode, and the hunger deans episode.

If they actually had the same personality but their characters still progressed and the stories were focused on community college and not this crazy stuff it would still be an amazing show

That's why I think Community gained a stronger following on the internet with S3. This is on Sheldon Cooper levels of obnoxiousness now. He's not funny, he's not entertaining, he's just a cringe-worthy, annoying and obnoxious representation of someone who has autism. Autism in the real meaning of the word, not the way you idiots use it here.

I felt the episode had a bit of an awkward self awareness that the show is on its last legs, and it left me a bit uncomfortable watching it. Some of the scenes were still funny though and I'll still keep watching.

Those Abed sitcom scene were really a new low point. Doing exactly the thing you mock makes no sense. It's not even proper satire with irony, it's just exactly the same thing, exactly unfunny, just that it's in Community and apparently ''ironic''.
I'm no film and TV expert and I don't work in the business, but those making the show should clearly know that and stop doing it.

He was only tolerable because the rest of the cast picked up his slack by being decently funny. Once he turned meta, he fucked everyone into abeds and fully corrupted the show. That's when I stopped watching.

I don't like how troy is now only there to be Abed's sidekick it's still funny 'cause Donald G can improvise but it was better when whilst he had his fun with Abed in the tags/B stories it feels like it's gotten to the point where now he can't go a scene without mentioning Abed at least once like in S4 episode.

That might change with the Britta/Troy story though.

Along with the "hey, the dean's wearing normal clothes, something must be wrong!" bit. That bit, and the bit where everyone's like "shut up leonard" felt like cringeworthy callbacks to previous seasons.

I liked season 3. It was on par with 1 and 2 for me.

This episode seemed too off though. They jumped into Abed tv too much for my liking, seemed they were tying to fit in too mny stories, and community babies was awful.

I think my favourite part was the fact that Chevy wasnt in Abed tv, but thats only funny because he actually left, They didn't plan that out.

Dean had a couple good lines as well.

This new episode was horrible. They were trying to fit in as many stories as possible, making it so chaotic and nonsensical. Just slow down for a moment, holy shit
