The last episode, the doctor will have to travel back (maybe with silent tardis, maybe through the cracks?) through different times in Amys timeline to help her with some big problem at the end of the season..

    1. The TARDIS does or doesn't make noise/appear a certain way depending entirely on how the writers need for a particular scene
2.he didnt say "stop trusting me", go mack and rewatch the scene

now that said, it's entirely possible that the doctor had come back from a different point in time under duress due to he strange behavior in that conversation but its just as likely he was legitimately freaked out about leaving Amy alone in the forest surrounded by angels and unable to open her eyes especially considering she isn't one of his smarter companions, and the jacket being on may have been a continuity error

Moffatt is too fancy/complicated of a writer. He is trying to be LOST but doesn't have the time or setup to do so.

I would believe a second doctor, but that will create so much mess that I doubt it could be resolved happily.

As it is, even the episodes are sloppy at points. "Close your eyes" to get rid of a mental image? Not sure if you've ever closed your eyes before, but it definitely makes mental images stronger, not weaker.

if you really think that the TARDIS has not appeared silently before you need to watch more Who, although I'm sure Moffat has a reason for River Song telling the Doctor to turn off the brakes

And yes Amy Pond is fucking dense, she may be able to figure out to blink one eye at a time (WOW!) but the scene in pt2 where she feels the tree root with her foot and STILL manages to trip on it and then flail around like a retard in one fucking spot while yelling for the Doctor (who is in a different part of the ship) that she can't find her radio when the Doctor told her specifically NOT to do stuff like that is proof shes not on of the more clever women hes picked up over the course of the series

Its a way of calling a library a forest. Same material is in the books. The planet was just a massive library. The Vashta Nerada were on other planets, people cut down their forests and made books. The Vashta Nerada were then transported in large numbers to the library.

Also, there aren't TWO Doctors. There is only one Doctor. The Doctor with the tweed is from the series finale. At least that's what I thought. Maybe the Doctor is the one causing the cracks? He loses in TARDIS, he creates cracks in time paralleling Amy's position, uses them to travel and change bits and pieces. Or he just uses the silent TARDIS to travel.

Best I understand it is, being a Time Traveller you experience time differently, so you see time as it is, not as a chronological progression of events, wibbly wobbly, timey wimey. But! The cracks are time running out, so they feed on time energy. Whatever get too close to the crack is undone, because the wibbly wobbly timey wimey that meant that thing could be there, is unwritten.

So when Pedro stepped into it, someone hit the rewind button on his life and boomf, gone, and the crack just fed on the time he had lived.

Very very very much this. They made a point to have him run off with General guy and River, and then SECONDS later coming up to her. I could give it the title of production error if it was just the costume, but it is far far more than that. He said what he said out of the blue, and out of character for the situation he was in.

No, the Vashta Nerada grew out of spores on the trees that were cut down, they weren't transported anywhere. They were killing people because they were pissed about their planet being turned into a library.

Why I think that there's something more complicated with the Crack than a simple alteration of time. Maybe even something premeditated, designed. It's not the scissor that cuts the time line, it's the vacuum that erases everything from the floor but leaves the floor intact. Like, when the soldiers never existed, the timeline didn't adjust itself so that some other recruits joined this assignment, it's just that all memory of there being those original soldiers was forgotten.

What I mean is, think of the cracks like this: say there's a planet where all the inhabitants get all their nutrients from a single type of vegetable. So there's this guy who's been eating the same vegetables from the same patch on the same farm for years. Now, if you travel back in time and poison that particular spot where those vegetables will one day grow so that nothing can ever grow there, no problem. When it comes to growing and eating vegetables, simply, another spot will be chosen. BUT, if instead, that piece of ground is consumed by the crack at the same point in the past, and in its place is nothing but a crater, then you simply starve to death. Shit analogy I know but that's how I see it.

I'll admit that Moffatt is hella clever, but this thread seems like /tv/ (once again) trying to outsmart itself.

On some shitty American show like CSI or L&O, everything is spelled out for the audience in terms so simple that even the slow kid in the audience can get it. In DW, entire worlds of plot are spelled out in single lines of dialogue. So an exit and entrance = conspiracy.

    NEIN.

Remember, its being run by Moffat now, not RTD. He is sewing parts of the finale into previous episodes. Moffat's strong point is storytelling. I'll agree that /tv/ is dumb, but THIS is just too intricate. And there is actual evidence to back up this theory of future Doctor coming back.

Even Lost doesn't get this partisan scrutiny. This feels more like /co/ pouring over clues in the Batman books than /tv/.

Two Doctor theory is painfully obvious. He's a time traveler, after all. Visual cues are all there, even without acknowledging the dramatic shift in tone and temperament he goes through between his departure and sudden reappearance. Whether he came back in time or not shouldn't be up for debate. What I want to know is why.

What did he tell her when she was seven? Was this maybe an experiment, to see if time could be rewritten? He was most likely referring to his return to seven year old Amelia towards the end of The Eleventh Hour, so we have no idea what he said. Here's hoping for more clues next episode.

Things I hate about the new Doctor Who

1.It takes itself too seriously. For a show in which is pretty much pure fantasy with very little grounding in
actual science, it really takes itself too seriously.

    2. The Doctor is a cosmic fuckup.

the Doctor thinks he's saving the world by shutting down a space station that controls an Earth-spanning propaganda regime. In the season finale, however, he returns to Satellite 5, a century later - and learns that as a result of the shutdown, Earth has become technologically and socially stagnant, and the station itself has become a clearinghouse for reality shows, secretly run by the Daleks.

It's also been suggested (including in a column by Russell Davies) that the Doctor's self-righteous overthrowing of Prime Minister Harriet Jones after her actions in "The Christmas Invasion" directly allowed the Master to take her place, conquer the world, and rule in an unequalled reign of terror and genocide for an entire year until things managed to get sorted out. By contrast Harriet's truncated term, according to the Doctor himself, would have been "a Golden Age". Nice going, Doc.

    * Originally, this was going to pointed out by the Master in "The Sound of Drums"/"Last of the Time Lords." However, it was decided that this sort of gloating — in addition to the abuse the Master had already heaped upon the Doctor — would be an overkill.
And let us not forget that in "Tooth And Claw", the Tenth Doctor and Rose save Queen Victoria from a werewolf, but behave like utter arseholes in so doing and convince her that they're selfish, dangerous adrenaline junkies. As a result Queen Victoria founds the Torchwood Institute to protect the British Empire against extraterrestrial threats, and they spend a good century robbing and murdering innocent alien passers-by, and nearly destroying the human race several times For Science.

3.The Doctor has become a whiny pussy.
4.The Daleks have become WAY too powerful.

It takes itself a lot less seriously than similar science fantasy like Star Wars, imo.

So, let me get this straight. Moffat is trying to appeal to the old-time watchers that saw the technicolor Daleks back in '65? In 2010? Why?
They look like fucking toys now... even less menacing than they already were.

Not gonna lie, every time I hear that screech/ squawk whatever the fuck you call a Dalek's voice I start getting nervous.

Every time they show up you know shit's about to go down.

I love the colours and the size. It finally feels like the Daleks can do damage again. No stupid prophecy, no Dalek Gods, just pure Dalek.

And that White Daleks voice was so damn distorted was great.

Look, I like Doctor Who, I really do. But I cringe every time the Daleks refrain from shooting the Doctor just because they need to make him see the world burning or some shit.
I'm not saying they should just kill the Doctor and be done with it, although inside the series' universe that should be their goal. But working on better reasons for them not to do it would be nice.
I used to feel the same way you seem to do when a Dalek's voice was heard. It meant there was going to be some elaborate scene and the Doctor would have pull some pretty heavy deus ex machina to get out of it, but now? I think RTD trivialized the Daleks...

The white Dalek is the best of the lot.

I'm OK with them using different colors for different classes, but they could have picked better colors.

And I agree with >>8934244. New fuckhuge Daleks don't need to hide; they'll just wreck shit everywhere and it will be superb.

The first two numbers are too blotched to make out clearly, but otherwise it's september 1987. Same date layout as the one seen later in episode.
