ITT: Great films /tv/ never discusses. I'm sick of hearing the same shit over and over, idiots still making recommendation threads and getting the same tired responses.

Personally, I will be sure to watch at least 50% of the movies posted.

    >What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?

recommending movies without elaborating on what they have to offer is totally useless. how am i supposed to differentiate between the recommendations of those with good taste and those with a lust for James Cameron's ball juice? (and if any of you fuckers say "google hurr durr" or any shit like that, i swear to christ i will do absolutely nothing about it, but boy will i be mildly cross)

anyway, recent movies worth checking out:

Triangle -- comes out on DVD tuesday. crazy mind-bending psychological thriller, similar in a lot of ways to Timecrimes, but the end makes it way better

The House of the Devil -- faithful recreation of '70s/'80s horror style, very (VERY) slow-burn, but suspenseful and has fun playing with you

Pontypool - very unsettling Canadian comedy/horror that deals with a very bizarre outbreak, set from the POV of a radio station morning team. the intensity comes from what you dont see instead of what you do, kind of like The House of the Devil (but also kinda not).

The Escapist - old-school prison break movie with Brian Cox and a dual narrative structure that pays off nicely in the end

    Enjoy, slut-bags.
