I just got back from it, found it to be very boring and disappointing.

It was impressive given the $15,000 budget and the marketing is what'll really be remembered about this movie.

It's something like that. >>5222700 is right, though. There's no substance to the movie at all. You get about 40 minutes into the movie before anything even remotely interesting happens. The pacing is horrible. It's literally 20 or so minutes at a time between anything paranormal goes on, and until the very end of the movie, it's just minor shit. The last fifteen or so minutes of the movie are the only moderately unsettling parts, and it ends with a sense of abruptness that feels like a hit from a freight train. The only reason I didn't demand a refund was because I enjoyed listening to all those pussy college kids in the theater scream like children. I'm tempted to tell all my friends to go just so I don't feel bad about wasting $7.00.

Anyways, the movie was genuinely scary, which is why a lot of people are disliking it. The horror genre has become synonymous with retarded CGI splasher bullshit. This movie was legitimately frightening to anyone with an imagination. If you take the movie at purely face value as nothing but thuds and doors shutting without allowing yourself to become engaged in the movie, of course you're not going to like it.
