crappy quality but the movie itself is crap.

The biggest problem with this movie is the ad campaign. People go in expecting something an action-comedy and they get a classic Tarantino dialoguefest. I knew better going in and I was satisfied, but others might go in expectant of an action-comedy and react negatively in the end.

I was disappointed/bored.

I was hoping it'd be a wisecracking brad pitt making hijinx in WW2 france, with story devoid of any real theme or plot, just fun.

Instead I have to watch two people have a conversation about strudels.


My rating is 2 out of 5. There was nothing wrong with the production, but the story was just boring.

Why this? Was there some original out there? Are you merely confirming the year for us?

The movie was meh. Very uneven. It's almost as though there were two movies, one about the basterds and another about this girl operating a movie theatre. Either one made seperately would have been a pretty decent movie. Together things feel skimmed over. We have this great cast of basterds who we never learn a thing about. What makes Tarantino films great, like Pulp Fiction, is the time we get to spend with each individual character learning their motivations and through their dialogue we get to see their humor. In this we get none of that.

Also, the stylization didn't mix well with the more classic, spaghetti western style tension building scenes. Because the tense scenes dominate the screen time so much the few stylized scenes feel out of place. Not Tarantino's best by a longshot.

The dialogue scenes kept me engaged while the action scenes were very cathartic and relieved the tension that had just been built up for the past thirty minutes. People who say they were boring and irrelevant are uncultured swine who just wanted to masturbate to GNATZI KILLAN
