Look, I'm risking being a little bit pretentious here but "Rosetta," that Belgian film that won de Palm d' Or in Cannes in 1999.

I don't even like the film much but there isn't one single scene that feels out of place. It's a pretty perfect film.

One of the key characteristics to a movie being even considered "good" is if it stands up to repeat viewings and Memento just doesn't. The film is boring as hell on just the second viewing.

And don't say it's because you know the twist, because there are plenty of films you can enjoy on subsequent viewings while still knowing the twist. (Seven, Fight Club, Clockwork Orange, etc)

No, the fact that its the most iconic, quoted movie of all time shows that its trancendal, and the fact that it's listed on more critic's top movie lists than any other film shows that it is at least good.
