Anyone else hate how most people in Britain call a season a series? It makes me want to die.

But it's a season. All the seasons together are a series. What is this madness?

except that;s what your supposed to call it, fucking britfag. series doesn't even make sense. series refers to the show as a whole. SEASON makes much more sense.

Britain invented the television. If they call it series, then they are correct

Brit here. I say season. Although, there's no need to - our good shows never get more than one season anyway.

Bullshit, there isn't a single Britfag who doesn't like at least one British show

Also, as a Britfag myself, I've never called or heard it called a 'series'. WHERE DID YOU GET THIS INFORMATION?
    >> Anonymous 07/02/09(Thu)16:22 No.4055104

What pisses me off more is "maths".
Maths is supposed to be an abbreviation of "mathematics"
    Mathematic
    Mathemati
    Mathemat
    Mathema
    Mathem
    Mathe
    Math

There. That is how it should be abbreviated. But they add an "s" to sound like a dumbfuck hillbilly talkin' bout dem maths dat dose smart folks use.
You can't pluralize an abstract subject like mathematics. It is already plural and encompasses all forms of math. Saying "maths" is like saying mathematicses.
    >> Anonymous 07/02/09(Thu)16:28 No.4055141
Brit here. I don't like any British shows either.

Whn ever I see most of the shit I can't help but imagine someone sitting in an armchair flapping their arms and legs about, overreacting and shouting "LOOOOOL JOHN CLEESE IS TAKING LONG STEPS LOOOL EPIC WIN".

ITT: Amerifags pretending to be Britfags.

It's all about the amount of episodes that defines whether it's a season or a series. A show that last 20+ episodes is a season wheras 6-12 episodes of a show is a 'series'

Brit here. I say season. I don't like British tv shows (other than Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe/Newswipe and Brasseye).

Shitty image quality but you get the point. America's guilty too.
