I use to like Cops but all they do now is arrest rich well-to-do people. It gets old seeing the mercedes being told, or the cops talking to the camera saying most likely they will leave jail and post bail the same night. Or watching one of the sports cars drive away and escape from a chase. It was better when it was following the cops busting cokeheads and lower dregs of society.

I lol'd hard at one episode where they were chasing two Mexican guys through a neighborhood, through peoples backyards, but lost them. Then, one of the officers notices shoes slightly sticking out from an upturned kiddie pool. He kicks it over and both guys are laying there, huddled up together, face down. He keeps telling them to put their hands behind their backs, but they just lay there as if to say "If we cant see you we're invisible!"

When I was younger, and I watched Cops with my parents, I'd ask them why some of the people's faces were blurred out. And they'd tell me it was the camera that made that happen. So for the longest time, I thought that the camera actually turned people's faces all blurry in real life.

One of the other things I always wondered was if and when there was a sticky situation on the show where it looked like the police needed lots of help, I always wondered why the cameraman would never put down his camera to at least help sometimes. Cameraman is a dick.

When filming Cops they pull over way more people than normal to try to get some good video. They pull over pretty much anyone in a shitty car in hopes of getting good video. A lot of people end up going to jail because they are coming home from work and drinking a beer. This is coming from someone who has worked on Cops every once in awhile for over 10 years.
