Don't you love the new trend of cable stations getting rid of those pesky closing credits for old shows altogether and just pasting them over the last two minutes of the show instead? Now they have even more time to run commercials!
    >> Anonymous 06/05/09(Fri)01:46 No.3782561
    I hate it.

Especially when the ending credits have like outakes, additional scenes, or awesome music.
    >> Anonymous 06/05/09(Fri)01:47 No.3782570
I made the decision to never watch broadcast television again the first time that happened.

I haven't seen a commercial in almost seven years :3

NO. The fact that they're removing the credits just to cram more ads makes me sick. TNT has been shortening the opening credits and removing the closing credits of daytime repeats of Law and Order, Charmed, Bones, and ER for quite a while.

I'm surprised that TNT viewers have not complained about this at all. It's like they don't care.

Most of the people who "watch" TNT only keep it on as background noise.

    >new trend
    Not so new.

Also not new, but infinitely more annoying to me, are those little animated promos for other shows they run in the lower third of the screen DURING THE FUCKING SHOW. I'd like to get a hold of the asshole who thought that one up.

What I hate is the FUCKING NEWS TICKER on the bottom of the screen that has been present since 9/11.

WTF?! I am trying to look up Anne Curry's skirt, MOTHER FUCKER!!!

    >are those little animated promos for other shows they run in the lower third of the screen DURING THE FUCKING SHOW. I'd like to get a hold of the asshole who thought that one up.

Most people have digital cable/satellite that have reminders telling you if a show is about to be transmitted. Even if you have OTA (Over the Air) digital television, you have a 36-hour tv schedule that shows you what shows are coming up.

Those little animated promos for other shows, that gimmick, is already obsolete. It's like the tv industry thinks we are stupid.

Correction, they KNOW you are stupid.

I bet if we told them that all those animated promos are unnecessary, they just send a form letter explaining some excuse of why they do this.

    Am I right?

Probably the same guy who invented pop-up ads.

I hate the squeeze to the side of the screen more.
    >> Anonymous 06/05/09(Fri)02:18 No.3782750
I was just watching MASH on TVLand tonight and I could have sworn that they were speeding up parts of the show in little almost imperceptible bursts, like if you'd hit the fast forward button on your remote for half a second. The fact that this only happened during moments with no dialog made me even more suspicious.

I love it when they take up like a third of the screen.

I hate when they do that with movies. Like, I just watched a good movie, I need a moment with the credits and the music to let it sorta sink in, but LOL NO, TIME FOR COMMERCIALS IMMEDIATELY
    >> Anonymous 06/05/09(Fri)02:27 No.3782795
you guys would really rather see credits than advertising?

i'm not seeing the logic here. i don't really care who the key grip is on lost

Most television channels that squeeze credits (in some cases into unreadable sizes.) use most of the space created for more promotions for shows.

    You beat me to it.

Anyway, I loathe local and basic cable channels that show sped-up credits of a movie just to get them over with.

I hate commercials that are advertisements for other shows on the channel. I'm already watching your channel motherfuckers, stop playing that stupid fucking commercial every break.

In the UK, people complained every week after shows like Sopranos or Law & Order: Criminal Intent

After a brutal murder or a passionate scene at the end, instantly we'd get

WHAT HAVE THOSE LOL WACKY HOUSEMATES BEEN UP TO, ARE THEY STILL AS CRAAAAAZY AS EVER? BIG BROTHER NEXT LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Could I get a vid' to illustrate this? I think I get it, but we don't do that here yet.
