    I don't watch tv anymore because it makes no difference. I don't have a nielsen box so if I watch a show along with 10 million other people then it won't fucking matter. The only people who make a difference are those with the box.

    Without the box ratings you can't sell advertising space. Without advertising you can't continue producing shows. So an AMAZING show could end up being cancelled because of neilsen box families who have no taste.

    Get a fucking clue and stop relying on this outdated system to determine the popularity of a show. Why are we still "estimating" numbers in todays world? Why not just do like PC's and assign each cable box an IP so EXACT numbers can be recorded? Then maybe decent shows would stick the fuck around.

    If you take some time to talk tv with people that aren't you or your earlier 20 somethings friends you'll find out that most people both watch and appreciate what is on tv and that the neilsen ratings are pretty accurate.
