They need to give him a badass role already. He keeps doing children's films, which I guess is good since Arnie did his share, but he really needs to go for the more mature roles.

I've seen both of those too.

They were both mediocre. Doom didn't really make him badass enough, and Walking Tall just wasn't a very good movie in general.

Wow, I guess there's just no pleasing some people.

That movie was surprisingly perfect. It's one of those "man, even the title makes it seem like it blows" films and yet once you sit down and watch it, you realize it's easily on par with the likes of other films that got the initial thumbs down that are now hailed as good to god tier flicks (Evil Dead, etc.)

Yea Scorpion King was a bad movie. But his role AS the Scorpion King in Mummy 2 was godly, and an example of the more roles he needs to play.

"The Rock" name is owned by WWE. As part of the exit clause of his contract with WWE, Johnson was allowed to use the name to promote his acting career while his WWE term of employment ran out.

The idea was that, by the time he stopped wrestling, his movie career would be good enough that he could continue getting work under his own name.
