  • Attention 4chan extension/user script/archive developers: Some time in the next few days, we'll be rolling out a complete HTML rewrite of the imageboards.
The design will remain the same, but the underlying HTML/CSS is completely new, and validates HTML5/CSS3 (with some tweaks to account for cross-browser compatibility).

Please visit this thread to read more about the changes, and here to preview the code.

As a regular user, these changes should not affect you. You will need to update your 4chan browser extensions/user scripts when their maintainer updates them to be compatible with the changes.
The official 4chan Chrome extension will be ready to go when the updates happen, and 4chan X should be ready soon. We'll post more details on the day of the migration!

Just bought the Tiny Furniture Blu-Ray.

Worth it? Hmm, probably not. I made sure to check out all the bonus features, and even with them I felt like I was paying at least $15 extra for maybe $5 extra worth of content.

No, but but Blu-rays are, I guess. You shouldn't buy one unless you really love the film though...

As a female TF felt like it was speaking directly to me. The sexuality was spot-on and social commentary/expectations about femininity was marvelous. If you didn't like it you probably just couldn't relate. Sorry.

Also I emailed her and told her how much I loved it and she got back to me within a week.

Well obviously I'm not planning on buying the trash.

I want to buy the stuff I like from them such as some Kurosawa and Tarkovsky films.

    what movies?
lesser known kurosawa movies have been available on bluray in japan for a while, if you know how to play pirated versions on your tv then pirate (or import if you got the cash) them instead of buying lesser dvds
same with tarkovsky, unless you're talking about solaris, criterion releases arent the best on the market currently
    >> Anonymous 04/29/12(Sun)19:39 No.22618143
I've never regretted a Criterion DVD.

The only DVDs/BDs that I buy are Criterions or cable television seasons. Like I'll buy shows like Game of Thrones or Boardwalk Empire on BD because I care about those shows and the people who make them.

Everything else I pirate. Shows that I don't love, but like a decent amount (Community, for example), other movies, etc.

Actually, also Eureka's Masters of Cinema. I often get their BDs instead of Criterion if I think it looks better.

Talk about stupid. So if a movie doesn't get a Criterion release that means it's not good enough? As if Criterion somehow has first dibs and access to everything ever made and only if they pass on it, someone else can release it...

I said the only ones that I buy. There's the device called the internet and places called cinemas and stores that allow you to rent DVDs.

I'm 24 and have watched 10 movies a week since I was 15. Chances are I've seen more of this wealth of cinema than you.
    >> Anonymous 04/29/12(Sun)19:55 No.22618464
    >>22618425
Maybe they don't buy every single movie ever and just like Critereon's packaging? Just because you don't buy it doesn't mean you can't watch it.
    >> Anonymous 04/29/12(Sun)19:57 No.22618492
C'mon you fucking mongoloids, the average Criterion fanboy has plenty of Masters of Cinema and Kino in his collection as well.

This fucking "haha hipster brand following faggot" attitude is wearing thin. Criterion deserve the benefit of the doubt most of the time because they have an excellent track record. I'll gladly spill £18 on a Criterion film I've never seen if it sounds good

    >> Anonymous 04/29/12(Sun)20:01 No.22618562
    >>22618513

I buy Criterion and Masters of Cinema because they generally care about the film's quality. If the Criterion isn't great, I'll get the Masters of Cinema. Or else I probably just won't bother buying it.

I don't feel the need to buy everything. I watch a lot of films and I only re-watch a handful of films that I love. The alternative to buying some good quality DVDs/BDs is just pirating everything.

So, all due respect, I don't see what's wrong with that.

Good quality stuff, I just would hate having a dvd collection that's all Criterion(save for Stalker, Troma and a few others) because of their near monopoly on those types of films.
