I'm just an Ausfag, so I don't know shit about America's reactions to their own products, but from what I've seen on recent American movies, there actually seems to be more sex than violence. In fact most comedies seem to make it a point to be as sexually graphic as possible, whereas most films I've seen from other countries really don't show that much, if anything (probably because graphic sexuality is just to save them having to write any proper jokes, but hey).

But yeah, the violence thing is stupid. It's so annoying to see people on american TV fucking breaking glasses and chairs on each other and not getting a scratch, when you hear about so many people in the real world dying from an unlucky punch to the head.
