Yeah this, thing is there's so many fake IMAX theaters that just use the brand name when they really aren't that much different from a normal theater. They don't even use the 70mm film to project so it doesn't even matter, some might use a 4k digital projectors but most are 2k.

Also, IMAX, along with any other medium format film size allows for the use of longer focal length lenses in wide shots, leading to the possibility of much shallower depth of field in comparison with super35. Which can create a very unique looking aesthetic that you just cannot get with regular super35 or anamorphic.

I don't even like IMAX personally. As was said the screen is so fucking big that you can't even see what's going on at the edge of the screen. I like to be able to see the whole picture thank you.
