the word licence, i instantly realise that this inferior country has a
secret police force which beat OAPs and extract thousands of british
dollars from them for the weekly TV licence >dig out my best reaction image, green text the words "TV licence" and post >i have successfully proved my superiority and contributed to a discussion
seriously
though, i don't have any big qualms with the system, other than the
ridiculous scare tactics they employ and all the money they waste.
website related, they're basically powerless:

the BBC is the closest you will get
to an impartial network, and the licence covers a ton of radio stations,
shows and news sources. everything i want from the BBC i get for free, i
listen to it for free and watch what i want, when i want, with no ads
it's easy to judge a complex system by the fact it's called a licence, but please try not to embarrass your country by doing it |
