The "favorites" are the top percentage demographic differences. Basically, it's finding the shows/movies that people who have that attribute (for example, vists /b/) rate, then comparing those ratings to people who do not have that attribute and then listing the top films and shows that were rated higher. Obviously Breaking Bad isn't gonna show up there because no one demographic rated that an obcene amount higher than the others. So you get more polarizing movies/shows that might appeal to a specific group.

So, for example, Madea's Big Happy Family is listed first for non-white. That means that film was rated on average 78% higher by non-white people than by white people, which was the highest demographic percentage difference of all films, which is why it's listed first.
