The show is average. There are people like the characters though and people of similar tastes do hang out together.

The only dumb thing is that they all have Dells, which is kinda dumb. And the only good characters are the tall one and the Jew.

The chick is hot though. I remember seeing her cameo on Prison Break Season 2 when it was still good. Too bad this show is fucking irritating. I only watched the first 3 episodes. Tell me when they have sex, then I'll download that episode.

The characters are all just flat and obnoxious. I know it's a sitcom, but it is possible to have at least a few layers in sitcom characters, even if they're not ultra complex or anything.

Now, while I just discovered this show and fell in love with it (strangely enough, the same thing with Bones), I have to agree with you here. Laugh tracks are a relic from the dark ages of television, and should not exist anymore. It always cheapen the jokes.

its not just there smarts, but they are nerds in every other way too, they are comic book nerds, sci-fi nerds, internet nerds, computer nerds, action figure nerds, dungeon and dragon nerds, etc, then on top of that they can still make a few pop cultural references all while only being in their mid to late twenties. where do they find the time to learn all this stuff, just studying for their physics and engineering degrees should it up most of there time, whats left should be used up during work.

I think laugh tracks (provided the laughter is from a live, studio audience) create a dynamic more akin to theatre and this improves the comedic atmosphere of a sitcom.

The writers waste no time milking her for what she's worth. Already in the first episode (I think, I never made it past ep 5) we see her walking around in nothing but a bath towel.

It does piss me off that they portray them as the ultimate nerd stereotypes...so fucking shallow. I mean, I fucking love vidya games, but I don't give a shit about Star Trek or comics.

Now, they should have had a vidya nerd, a comic nerd, a sci-fi nerd, and a DnD nerd. THAT would have been funny.
