My god, that was the worst fucking episode of the whole season. Are the writers just gonna forget the whole River Song/Melody plotline and introduce some shitty new characters and make it up as they go along?

Remember when old Amy and Young Amy talked in the class?

Old Amy clearly stated she remembered having that conversation as young Amy already ant that Old Amy didn't help her. Then out of Nowhere Amy breaks that time loop.

Then the Doctor says "Yes, except sometimes knowing your own future is what enables you to change it, especially if you're bloody-minded, contradictory and completely unpredictable."

Trust me on this, the Doc is about to become Time Lord Victorious again.

And why hasn't anyone made a reaction image of Pete saying "Trust me on this?"

    October 1st bro.

Oh, and I just noticed this in the last Doctor Who magazine, a brief bit about the finale which I just have to copy out:

    >The city of London, 22 April 2011 – soaring buildings, glittering and mighty under a perfect blue sky, and life tumbling onto pavements below. And horse-drawn Roman chariots driving through the streets. And a Victorian steam train on a monorail… hang on, like in a sci-fi city, but with Romans and steam trains? And hot air balloons? And pterodactyls? And Charles Dickens appearing on BBC One’s Breakfast! Something isn’t quite right…

    >In Buckingham Senate, at 5.02pm, Holy Roman Emperor Winston Churchill calls for his Soothsayer to be fetched from the Tower. Greying, unkempt, older, tireder, but unmistakably – it’s the Doctor. “Tick tock goes the clock,” Winston tells him, “but they don’t, do they? The clocks never tick.” It’s always 5.02pm these days. All of history is happening at once. “What happened to time?” asks Winston. The answer, it seems, is a woman…

Yeah, I'm not sure I understand it either.

A strong, independant woman with strong religious beliefs (I honestly found it well written and not "hurr durr imma muslim, we's companion now) that has father issues and trying to be no. 1 all the time would be a pretty good companion.

That was just to signify she has to stop living in a fairytale. Plus he called her "Glorious Pond" not moments earlier.

Ponds, Williamses, I don't think they really give much of a shit either way seeing how often it varies (like in A Good Man Goes To War when Rory came in and called her Mrs. Williams).

That will all happen because of this >>18533924

Honestly what can damage Time this badly if not a complex space time anomaly like The Doctor destroying a fixed point!?

i've somewhat liked every episode since Moffat took over, this has been my favorite tardis team since ace and the doctor and they havn't had any completely retarded episodes like during RTD seasons, the dalek one was the worst and that wasn't god awful just kinda dull

Agreed. The worst Moffat episode always seems to be better than the average RTD episode.

I started watching this show because of Moffat, there were only a few episodes which he didn't wrote, and I thought of them as outstanding.
    Human Nature/Family of the Blood
    Vincent and the Doctor
    The Doctor's Wife
    And that would be all.

    Some additional info.

The writer of Closing Time is Gareth Roberts, the other episodes he's written are:
    The Lodger
Planet of the Dead (Co-written with RTD)
    The Unicorn and the Wasp
    The Shakespeare Code

It's directed by Steve Hughes who hasn't worked on Doctor Who before.

The director of The Wedding of River Song also directed The Curse of the Black Spot and Death is the Only Answer (that short story those primary school kids wrote).

I agree to an extent, but harry loyd was fucking great and the doctor's vengeance scene was excellent. I just really hate martha.

Add Dalek, Utopia, and Amy's Choice to that list and you've got yourself a deal.

oh come on, sweet jessica hynes and awesome harry lloyd, WWI foreshadowing, and especially that concept with john smith as a seperate being sacrificing his life for some timelord asshole with all the drama surrounding it, that was some quality television right there.

Amy's Choice was pretty well thought either, I forgot about this one.
Utopia didn't made an impression on me, though. The Sound of the Drums did, but only because of lots of John Simm's screen time. What a cool guy.
