    Superhero Movies bother me.

They bother me because they come off as right-wing adolescent wank fantasies. They bother me because the nature of the superhero story means an iconic, larger than life, virtuous hero has to face off against an iconic, larger than life, moustache-twirling villain. They have very constructed, artificial, and unrealistic approaches to morality and to problems. Where's the comic or movie about a superhero that has to deal with diffuse social problems like urban neglect or the failing school system, or the way that short-sighted economic policy and exploitative lending policies by the IMF and World Bank have prompted many impoverished regions to rebuild their economies around resource extraction?

In Superhero Stories, bad things happen because there are evil people. It's stupid.

    >The Dark Tower.
Gunslinger Roland Deschain (Javier Bardem) roams an Old West-like landscape in search of a dark tower, in the hopes that reaching it will preserve his dying world. Directed by Ron Howard.

Really? That's how their pitching it? How about The Man in Black Flee's across the desert, and the Gunslinger Follows?
I mean really, in order to save his dying world? Roland ESPECIALLY IN THE FIRST BOOK is completely out for himself, in the first half he literally wipes out a small town Flagg sorta possessed to trap him, he just shoots dozens of otherwise innocent people dead. Then he let's Jake plummet to his death, in order to continue pursuing Flagg
Roland, at least in the first couple of books, isn't a fucking saint by any means, it's made quite clear that he's only out for himself.
Thus, the fucking ending to the goddamn series!
the man is cursed to spend eternity in an endless loop seriously don't check that last spoiler unless you want the entire fucking ending given away.

That's kind of my point. There are no such things as heroes in the real world and I would like to see that reflected in "superhero" movies because anything else just comes off as really creepy and artificial.

    'Super' does that.

Seriously? As in those fucking terrible two games, but with one of them black now?

Oh, and I'm actually kind of really excited for Cleopatra. This is a role Angelina could be really great in if she could channel how incredible she used to be. The woman can win another fucking Oscar if she actually puts her all into it again. I want another Gia or Girl, Interrupted, but CLEOPATRA.

    >Ender's Game

I fucking jizzed everywhere. They better not fuck this up, and they better either involve Ender's Shadow in the book or make an alternate series of movies for Bean.
