I honestly just think that Cameron waited too long.
He
said he'd had the idea for the movie forever ago, but the technology
didn't exist at the time. Not totally sure what technology he used to
make Avatar, but by the time he did, it wasn't anything new to see human
actors rendered in CGI.
I mean clearly, he wanted it too be a
groundbreaking thing where the term "Avatar" referred not only to the
Na'vi dolls of the story, but the CGI models that were taking the place
of their human counterparts.
Yet, I for one, was far more
impressed when I saw it a few years prior with Davy Jones in "Pirates of
the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest." |
