Anyways, my grandfather watched this show all the time with my dad, and now my dad watches it with me. This old-school sci-fi show from the other side of the atlantic was something every generation of my family shared together, and Elisabeth Sladen was a part of that. My grandad's gone now, but next time I see my father I think we'll watch an old Fourth Doctor story in honor of Sarah Jane.

To all the Brits: Most Americans over the age of 25 grew up watching old Who on PBS, especially the 4th Doctors adventures with Sarah Jane which PBS seemed to show most often.

Dutch fan here. Watched since the revival in 2005. Elisabeth will be greatly missed. I told my mum about it tonight and she was generally shocked. I didn't watch much of TSJA because it was aimed at children and was horrible to watch as an adult, but Lis will be greatly missed. It just doesn't feel....real...for some reason. Elisabeth and Baker were such quintessential parts of my childhood. I grew up watching Doctor Who every Sunday night on my PBS station. I loved seeing her return in School Reunion. And I actually liked the episodes I saw of SJA when ever the Doctor stopped by.
