It really made me lose a lot of respect for jodie foster as she refused to do hannibal because of the once scene where she had to kiss anthony hopkins. Honestly, how egotistical do you have to be as an ACTOR to not want to do a ICKY KISSY SCENE WITH SCARY HANNIBALS?

Depending on the day, for me it's a toss up between Manhunter and Silence of the Lambs.

And Hannibal in my opinion was a horribly paced and executed movie It failed at making me care even the slightest for any of the characters and there were many moments when I felt literally bored. They put too much thought into shocking the audience with it's gory scenes and not enough thought into anything else really. Mediocre movie is mediocre.

The book wasn't all that good either.

I didn't really enjoy Red Dragon, too literal a translation of the book and for some reason it lacked any kind of urgency or sense of danger for any of the characters.

Same with Hannibal, although the book wasn't much better, it felt like Harris just wanted to churn out something to be adapted to film, then threw that ending where Starling elopes with Hannibal Lecter and they live happily ever after in Argentina. Seriously motherfuckers.
