62 KB Too Old for PBS, Too Smart for Nick and Disney, Too Young for Prime Time Television OP !/Ba2QOSarw 07/24/10(Sat)16:46 No.11188281
When I was in middle school I realized out that PBS had nothing to offer for teenagers. Only old stale britcoms and mystery shit, and the varied same educational crap and pledge breaks only a senior citizen would love.

I had cable but the programs on Nick, Disney Channel, and most of Cartoon Network unappealing when I 15. Disney Channel was slowly turning into girls only network, and nick was getting to the point where it's only a dumb kid would love, not just programs for everyone, as for cartoon network I mostly watch adult swim and toonami (RIP Tom). So I kept my tv on it as background noise.

Going out was not an option, while teens got to hang out, go to the mall or cinema, or simply go out, I did not had that option. I was practically socially imprisoned without a car, and because I had no friends (and being bullied at the time did not help).

For primetime television, I did not even bother watching primetime television because of the fear my parents would bitch about me about inappropriate content and shit. But it appears like everyone who was 13 at the time jumped ship from PBS to primetime programing.

Nowadays, I'm 21, and I can't even enjoy television anymore. All I see is mostly crime/legal/lawyer/medical dramas, your average laugh-track sitcom, and too many reality tv shit. Cable isn't much better as it's more of the same shit unless you subscribe to their most expensive package.

Basically I can't enjoy television anymore except for movies on HBO and the Law and Order series. Probably because I gotten too smart by using the internet a lot for knowledge instead of watching tv.

    1. So, what programs did you watch after graduating from PBS?
    2. Did teens graduated from PBS by simply watching primetime tv on the commercial networks?

That's the thing. I usually download British television from various sites, and watch YT clips.

I watched PBS well into my teenage years, because they played a bunch of British sitcoms like 'Allo, 'Allo, Are You Being Served?, Keeping Up Appearances, Father Ted, One Foot In The Grave, Red Dwarf, so on and so forth.

PBS has been my favorite channel since I was 4 years old.

OP is a mouth breathing moron.

I have been watching Frontline since I was barely able to walk.

That's the problem with PBS, that's all they show. They only broadcast a percentage of what British Television offers. And what they do broadcast are old and already been reran half-to-death. Another problem with PBS is that they don't produce their own drama, at all.

That would be a problem, if most of british tv wasn't utter shit.

If you want good dramas either download them or rent the dvds.

And I never graduated from PBS. They've got some of the best documentaries ever.

I wonder why they might not produce so many of their own shows.
