OP here. I'll be staying in or around Stockholm, if not Gothenburg. Or Malmo. One of the big three. The reason I'm doing this for the whole summer is because i have nothing else to do, and I would rather be out and experience different cultures rather than sit around all day.

I was thinking I'll give them something goo and local in my town as someone said. Or alcohol. Or both.

did homestay through peace corps. cultural differences aside (you signed up for a homestay, and you are obviously going to experience some big cultural differences), bigger problems arise from personalities...it's just like if you moved in with a random family in the states, really. i lived with that family, and wanted to kill them after three months. but i also wouldn't want to live with my mother or father for three months. dig?

Just bring alcohol they will love it since it's fucking expensive in Sweden.
