have to agree with this. I just moved here (staying for 2 years), have
been here a month and so far this is exactly what I've seen. I studied a
bit before coming over so I know enough Japanese to get around and
basic conversations, but every time I use it people applaud it. Not only
that but people want to use their English all the time. It's like if
they don't take the chance (seeing a western looking foreigner) they
wont be able to use what they've been studying in school for so long.
I've made some friends, even though we can't communicate perfectly,
mixing my bad Japanese and their bad English, we're able to make it
through. (Not to mention it's beneficial to both parties, being able to
practice.) |
