You can always lightly drybrush a little darker paint on these to bring out the high points of the sculpt. They'll still glow in the places where the paint doesn't land as long as you don't gob the paint on. I've done this with a few GITD toys over the years.

My understanding is that the shipping calculator built in to the store often overcharges people compared to what the actual shipping cost is going to be, and the freebies they throw in are to account for that, and are distributed proportionally to how much you ended up overpaying. So the more you pay for shipping, the more you can potentially have overpaid by, the more free stuff you can end up with, which isn't far removed from "buy more, get more".

First Glyos purchase ever, and I'm surprisingly pleased. These things are a lot bigger and more satisfying in hand than I was expecting. Well, except for the Armodoc, which is smaller than I was expecting, but still cool. I already want more!

Sparkly pink Crayboth is awesome! This is the first thing I pulled out of the box, and I was immediately surprised. I don't know why, but I was expecting Crayboth to be about the size of a quarter, but it turns out they're about Lego minifig size.

I forgot to take pictures of the Armodoc. Oh yeah, and I got the three Gouvrom heads (black, smoke, neo voss) and the pink Crayboth as freebies.

Sometimes. Right after the ZED drop black Buildmen, Axis sets and phase arms were re-stocked. COnsidering that we're still supposed to get some DSG Canes re-stocked, I imagine that the essentials will be back soon.

Do you guys know what good non-Glyos accessories or other things work well with the figures?

I had chopped the poorly-sculpted Jeff Bridges out of this Iron Monger figure a long time ago, and if you take off his arms and legs, a founder can chill out in the open cockpit.

What I'm really looking for are swords and other melee weapons. Most of the ones I have have pommels on them that don't fit the Glyos hand hole.

One thing I use with Glyos a lot is the cape from this Hobgoblin. It's about the right orange color to go with EMD stuff, about the right size for Glyos dudes, and it's got a great sculpt.

Also, the other night I found out that the necks of the 6-inch Star Trek figures from the last movie can accept male Glyos pegs, so with a little finagling you can make Glyos Simon Pegg or something.

So, I'm getting into this very late in the game. It's pretty much impossible to get older stuff without getting raped, isn't it. Everything on eBay has deadly high prices, and there really isn't much there to begin with. Not too many sales even in the trading post on OT, and a lot of people there are looking to buy or trade only.

I think the vinyl stuff is a bit more pricey to produce. Also, they're way bigger and bulkier than the standard Glyos figures, so...yeah.

Also, these Armodocs are cheaper than usual (they're usually $25) because the vinyl has some visible "waves" and bubbles in it (this really isn't a big deal in person). This is the last time they'll do clear colorless vinyl, so if you want one, better bite the bullet.

It might good to chill and wait. If you really want something RIGHT NOW maybe get a Buildman or Phaseon + 2 Phase arms + 2 Axis Sets + Hub Set. Otherwise, you can wait til July's drop.

We don't talk about Callgrim or OSM much because they release very slowly. We've had 3 Glyos drops this year, so at least 60 items have been released by Onell.
There have only been 2 Callgrim drops that gave us 8 items, 2 of which are insanely expensive.
OSM have some new releases next month (?) I think.

Is painting these guys a bad idea if you still intend to be swapping em and playing with em regularly? I want to paint up a few pieces, but I'm worried about paint transfer to other pieces, or scratching off/chipping the paint while building.

Someone tell me more about the Armodoc.

On the one hand, I really don't care very much for transparent figures, but if that makes the current Armodoc $5 cheaper, I figure I can always paint him or something.

Can you stick a Traveler or Buildman inside one, or is there some connecting wall or something between the chest and waist that prevents that?

The big round bit that comes with the Phase Arm sets can stick into the vinyl joints.

The articulation looks like standard Glyos swivels, in the same places as a Traveler.

As far as I know, all Glyos orders come with some kind of freebie. I don't think they're sending out the clear pink Crayboth with glitter in it anymore.

This was my first Glyos purchase, and I'm completely satisfied. The figures are actually really cheap considering this is an indie toy company. In-hand, they feel solid and well-made, even after swapping parts numerous times. I thought I'd be bummed on the swivel joints everywhere, but I'm really not. You'd be surprised how much posing you can do, particularly when Axis joints get in the mix.

Just try buying a small set, as suggested by Buzzclaw further up in the thread. If you end up not liking em, you can definitely make your money back reselling em. Speaking of which, does anyone have any spare Neo Voss Phase Arm/Axis Joint/Hub Sets they don't need?

so how exactly do the new waves of stuff work?
Old stuff is up on the site but there dosn't seem to be a "coming soon" area.

do you know what its going to be ahead of time? or is it just a mad rush to see if you like it and order it before its gone?

callgrim uses the glyos joint system thus are compatible, so are the weapons packs from spy monkey / outer space men from the 4horsemen. all of them will plug and clip into each other thus making stuff like the picture possible

depends on what type of paint you use. ni stuff uses monsterkolor stuff and i swap these parts around all the time without problems (i have heard that in some cases the paint overlaps the joint and the parts will be stuck together) and nistuff explicitly says that they aren't intended for throwing at the wall, but no problems here
