My view on what most people are like may be biased, but I think even most normal people are deeply flawed, and for us it's just expressed through toys, while for other people it's online gaming, or smoking, or booze, or drugs, or sex, or gambling.

Despite what you may have been raised to believe, we are not born equal. Some of us are born with multiple disadvantages. It doesn't mean we can't be as good as someone who doesn't have to work to be that good, but it means we're farther behind, and unless we're motivated to work hard at it, we'll be lacking that aptitude. Like I said, multiple disadvantages. Some of us are still tackling problems that are prerequisites to other problems like social skills, and some people are so fucked by circumstances that they'll die clueless and alone.

Actually man, /toy/ has decent guys that are productive members of society with great lives.
The youtube reviewers offer information on toys that prospective buyers could use, they are a great help in determining if a toy is gonna be good.
Customizers add thier own twist to the toy industry, and they are most welcome to do it.
The guys here are a diverse, yet well unified group of people.
There are the Anons, the Trippers, and the Namers taht we have, and they makeup for a colorful, enjoyable /toy/

I don't know... as "diverse" as people of a group may be, there do seem to be some very very common things about them. There ARE a lot of loser toy collectors with no lives. (and anyone addicted to anything) and even the more healthy collectors are still dancing on that razor's edge.
I'm curious to see the statistics on that though. I hunger for hard data.
