Greetings, /tg/.So, I've never really visited this board so how do you troll this place?Gimme some stuff.Thanks.
Simple. Just say true things like 'Eldar are the best in 40k', or '4E sucks donkey cock', or 'Dwarf Fortress is a piece of shit game' and they'll have the pitchforks soon enough.
Are you, perchance, Estonian?
I think you shall find that we don't tolerate that kind of nonsense around here.Good day to you.
post
>>8587247The truth hurts?
this thread itself is enough to call the trolls of /tg/ into a 200 post long circle jerk
>4e>3.5>LOLATLANTIS>Sergals>Elves are faggots>Dwarves are closet faggots>Space Marines are colossal faggots>Booze tastes like shit>-4 STR
We're actually one of the harder to troll boards. At least that's what I'd like to believe. When in doubt, though, furry porn.
>>8587261Lovely!>>8587247Never played any of those but duly noted.>>8587251No, never been there- but good troll material for /int/, saying that Estonia is nordic or scandinavian works well too.
>>8587282>Elves are faggots>Dwarves are closet faggots>Space Marines are colossal faggotsBut insulting races, isn't this a board about games, and not about Cosplay/believing-you're-a-fairy stuff?
we tend to actually intelligently discuss intended troll topics.but 4E always shitstorms reliably.
>>8587315You're learning already.
In essence, /tg/ enjoys its trolls. We tend to have more fun with troll threads than "relatively serious" threads, simply because we have such a high proportion of intelligent users. It's not that you *can't* troll us, you can troll anyone who doesn't have the patience of a saint (and with the number of people on this board, somebody is going to be lacking the appropriate level of forbearance). It's just that we tend to enjoy the trolling. We've evolved into a mutually symbiotic relationship with each other.
>>8587315Wow, you are new...
>>8587337well yeah, been here for like 10 min now. >>8587324Thanks!
If you really want to troll /tg/ hard and brutal. Ensuring the rage of the total population.Learn the rules for say... Dark heresy. Then write a 10 post long story about your character that did something that started like an everyday roleplay but turned out into something epic. Take like 10 minutes between the postsDO NOT POST THE FINAL PARTIf done right tears of rage will be shed
>>8587402Yeah not nerdy enough to actually understand these games...I have barely ever played a computer game, I played WoW for while, and that's the only one.as for boardgames I've only played Backgamon and Chess
>>8587422>Yeah not nerdy enoughYou're on 4chan. You're fooling yourself.
>>8587422Could use a pasta of the rules etc.
>>8587464yeah, I am perhaps geeky..But not nerdy. Nerds are smart and know games and computers :\
>>8587422What boards do you troll anyway?
>>8587487The easymode ones; /b/ and /int/./int/ you just mention anything about Scandinavia, Estonia, Poland, Brazil, etc.
>>8587500/int/ is just oen big troll on humanity
>>8587283Because you're around only at night, Leman. /tg/ falls for the most obvious trolls, even ones that they've seen before word-for-word, and brings the threads to autosage. But it only happens when we're less slow.
>>8587485Most games are really easy if you take a little time, you definitely don't need great intelligence to play, just some patience to learn the rules. It depends on game of course, for example wargames usually require more "nerdiness", since you need to understand possibilities, basic tactics, how your opponent army works, etc., while in RPGs you just need to find decent group, follow their advices and try not to do stupid shit. Boardgames varies, from some who are just above tic-tack-toe, while other have rules that looks like manual for computer assembly.
>>8587603True. /tg/ is hardmode.
>>8587637Yeah it's the complicated ones and strategy ones I suck at.Most of the D&D sort of things seem to be as complicated as advanced Physics courses...
>>8587654Speaking of this, does it count as a troll of Im genuinely ignorant about the games, as I dont know much of it?That should be a bit of a pain
>>8587635Nah, I see those too, I just want to believe we're being ironic...
>>8587500Maybe to some people.
>>8587726meant to click>>8587684
>>8587743I'd hate having to learn about this stuff...Also I'd be afraid of liking it and advancing down the ladder of nerdiness
>>8587684Nah. Hit up /rs/ for some books. Dungeon Crashers and Kobolds Ate My Baby are about as easy as it gets.Spirit of the Century and everything else by Evil Hat are only marginally more complicated.D&D, Fantasy Craft, M&M, or WoD would be your next step.Eclipse Phase, GURPS, or Traveler would be the next step up from that. Those two are more complex than needed, so it's best not to go into ones written by autistic dudes. They just put more math and paperwork in the way of things. If you're new and don't want to do fantasy games, I recommend Violence.
>>8587282-4STR is codeword for musclegirl dump.
>>8587786but is it alot of math or more game?
>>8587837Mostly you'll only have to add. If the guy running the game (DM/GM/ST/Whatever) has some common sense, that doesn't come into play too much outside of combat.
Quest thread trolling is easy. Just start a "Quest" thread with an incredibly interesting summary, and an eye-catching picture. Then, you can go one of two ways.1. Don't let a single post influence your set story. Play everything out in an incredibly predictable manner, with absolutely no surprises.2. Make stupid posts as another user suggesting things nobody would want, and only follow those choices. Feel free to follow a good suggestion every now and then, just to make them think it might become good at some point.
>>8587883What is a quest thread though?
>>85878833. Go six posts in and stop without telling anyone.
4. Spam your own thread with rapefic copypasta and Wikipedia entries.
>>8587897http://1d4chan.org/wiki/QuestDrawfaggotry really isn't necessary anymore, but it always helps.
>>8587961So this is like, THE nerdiest board?Quests, games, etc.?
>>8587961I contribute the marginal quality of many quest threads these days to lack of drawfaggotry. If every quest-thread maker was dedicated enough to provide some form of visual media to go along with the story, then they're dedicated enough to ensure the quality of the thread. Text-only is easy-mode.
A word to the wise: it's gonna be relatively difficult to troll /tg/ without playing, or at least understanding, the things that it by-and-large enjoys. For quality trolling, you're gonna have to pick up a game and learn to play. And then, you won't be a dedicated troll.YOU'LL BE ONE OF US.
>>8587993FUCK YOU CAKE, WE'RE NOT NERDSNERDS PLAY VIDEO GAMES AND LIVE IN THEIR BASEMENTS WE PLAY PNP GAMES AND LIVE IN ATTICS
>>8588018Or you could just save any of the great number of reposted stock troll images. "4e has unique and diverse powers" is always a favorite, but anything Avatar-related has its merits.
>>8588043Yeah, but that's not any fun. Using stock phrases and troll-posts that we've already seen only ensures that /tg/ enjoys the trolling. In order to really make people angry, you have to be inventive. No one these days ACTUALLY rages in those Ayn Rand threads.
>>8587993>So this is like, THE nerdiest board? No, no, no. That would be /jp/.We're the most perverted. We're like /d/, only with less dickgirls.
>>8588086>most perverted>less dickgirls than /d/wat...one of those isn't true.
>>8588037Do I know you? ;o>>8588018This is my fear>>8588086Good, dickgirl is yucky
Impossible to troll /tg/ without knowing the ways of /tg/.One of us.One of us.ONE OF US.
>>8588137Oh, I think you'll quite enjoy being a fa/tg/uy. Everyone kicks and screams as the transformation process begins, but shortly thereafter all embrace it. A van is being dispatched to your location as we speak, and your knowledge of standard social interaction as well as other trivial information will be sucked out of you, to be replaced with a slight lisp, a hungering for orange-colored snack foods, a comprehensive understanding of the basic maths, and an encyclopaedic grasp of all the rulebooks.Enjoy your stay.
>>8588073Then why do they not sage if they're "playing along", to prevent it from shitting up the front page?Exactly.
>>8588018>>8588073It's ridiculously easy to troll /tg/. What you lack in ability can be made up for with persistence.Hell, if wanted to i could hop over to SD.net and copypaste some of the crap about turbolasers being multi-gigaton death rays that would rape the imperium's face from a billion light years away, most of the people on here would fall for it. When i used to do a bit of trolling here 40k vs whatever was the best way to get a ton of angry replies.
one time I tried to piss off the anons, didn't workI just post genuinely
>>8588229If what you say is true( it isn't) then i would suggest you seek professional help immediately.
>>8588218>hungering for orange-colored snack foodsI hate cheetos.
>>8588218Stop that you're scaring me :S
>>8588248You forgot Doritos. Or carrots. Oranges, perhaps? Orange is not limited.
>>8588229
>>8588267>You forgot Doritos. Hate.>Or carrots. Cannot digest.>Oranges, perhaps?I'm okay with this,
>>8587286>Estonia: good troll material for /int/.She can troll me all she wants, any time she wants.
>>8588287Hey, you troll - Carrots are tasty and an excellent snack if you're going to the theatre and dont wanna pay for popcorn
My regular posts (both here and on /mu/) tend to piss people off. Perhaps it's my wilful ignorance.
>>8588246the kind of help I need comes in brass shells>>8588276good to see you, russ
>>8588249It is far, far too late for second thoughts, my fine friend. You will want to relax somewhat; it may be unpleasant otherwise.
>>8588248HOLEEE SHEEEETTTTTT!!!I hate cheetos with the fury of a thousand raging suns, the orange makes me rage so hard the thunder god's cacophanous roar would seem pathetic in comparison to my shout of fury. The texture, my insides churn like the molten lava of Mt.Doom, ready to burst of in a spewing of burning hot hate and anger at the texture of those vile cheetos.
>>8588312No. They are shit.
>>8588338What about sweet potatoes or yams? Apricots, cantaloupes, mangoes? All fine choices.
>>8588386All shit.Except for mangoes. There is only one tree in the world that I will eat mangoes from - the tree at my summer house at Puerto Rico. And mangoes are reddish, not orange.
>>8588408The exterior may range from green to yellow to orange to a deep red, but in my experience the pulpy flesh is always either yellow or orange. Also, as I munch on my carrot before going to bed, I shall think of you.
>>8588386the deuce is yams?>>8588332I will be far gone before my mind is corrupt - I will not surrender
>>8588465Some sort of shitty sweet potato
>>8588473Yams are fucking awesome. How dare you question them.
>>8588487No, boyo. They are garbage, and you are garbage for liking them.
>>8588473A common misconception. A yam is a root vegetable that typically grows in South America, and is very long and stringy, sometimes reaching up to three feet in length. A sweet potato is typically much smaller, and more commonly grown and encountered in the United States. When someone up here refers to a "yam" they are almost always referencing sweet potatoes.Pic related. It's a yam.
>>8588510Why do they call it a yam?because you jam it up somebody's ass.
>>8588510LOOKS LIKE A BIG TURD.CONGRATULATIONS, YOU LIKE TO EAT BIG TURDS.
