Just finished. All survived on all upgrades, mostly paragon and all that shit. And you know what?I gave him that station. Because besides his agenda, my mistrust for him and generally him being a huge renegade jerk... He cares.I can't put my finger on it, but I felt sorry when I chose to shut him out after he said that we need each other. How far can you go while doing good? I had no doubts for quite a time. Now I have. Sometimes being all paladin is simply stupid. Some people don't understand anything but sheer violence. Some deserve it.I just hope he puts it to good use. I'll keep an eye on him.
>>7941402I blew it up. The Illusive Man only cares about getting Humanity to the top of the political pile, and doesn't give a shit what way he goes about it. The Shepard I ran wants Humanity recognised as equal to the other Council races - not better than them - and that humanity should earn this right by going out and doing good shit that promotes galactic unity. Instead of trying all sorts of bastardly underhand methods to get into power.
>>7941463It is not about humanity though. You have seen what Reapers can do. You have seen how many of them are coming.Do you really think we should ditch every chance to improve our defences against them?
I gave him that station for the same reason I preserved the Krogan cure, saved th Rachi Queen, Killed the Council, United te Geth and encourage the Quarians to peace: The Reapers are far to big thread to ignore any possible help or resources.
I was pure paragon, and I was going to give him the Reaper. But then I thought about it. Thought about what Legion and Mordin had said. Humanity isn't ready for that kind of power, isn't ready to use it properly. And even if we were, the reapers have dictated our socio-technological development for too long. We don't need tech they know and understand, we need tech that is as alien to them as they are to us.
>>7941504>Do you really think we should ditch every chance to improve our defences against them? Not at all. I freed the Rachni Queen. I reprogrammed the Geth. But I was not going to stoop so low as to turn that sort of technology over to Cerberus.
There are thousands of 37 millions years old vessels in the area a part of the Collector base. Which means that no matter what you chose, TIM WINS.
>>7941402Cerberus gets shit done, and doesn't afraid of anything. Of course I gave them that station, that tech should be utilized. And no one besides Cerberus has balls to do it.
Invincible Million Reaper Army coming. Enjoy your bloodbath pure paragonfags.
Its Reaper tech, I doubt you can use it "for the Greater Good" any more than you can use Borg nanitesWe need new things to fight them with, reverse engineering their shit will NOT END WELL
>>7941643I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of sentient race following me as their messiah.
Let's not forget that the Reapers have always wanted the galaxy, not just the humans, to use their tech. Sovereign said so with the Mass Relays and the Citadel. What makes you think re-purposing their own technology would be such a great idea? I mean, look at the IFF. We all know how that turned out.
>>7941643No, paragonfags will enjoy real bloodbath after defeating the Reapers.Massive Krogan rebellions, Rachni infestations and Geth invasions are inevitable.
Paladins are good, not blind.
Destroyed it.I don't trust the Illusive Man, as simple as that.
And have you guys forgotten what happened to that Cerberus team that tried to salvage the dead Reaper? THEY GOT TURNED INTO HUSKS.Do you think its honestly a good idea trying to salvage that Reaper?
>>7941688Well, if bad comes to worse we can make Reaper IFF minefields to slow the advance! :D
>>7941721Actually we were going to salvage the Collector base, not another Reaper. But that doesn't mean there wouldn't be any indoctrination shit in there.
Oh, plus Cerberus does bad things with the tech they do get their hands on."What's this? A hidden Reaper signal? Oooh. TRANSMITTING OUR LOCATION."
>>7941737Oh yeah, and the "Oh, and I totally forgot the part where I'm SENDING YOU INTO A TRAP!"
>>7941721Next time Cerberus will use just drones for field experimentation.
>>7941748suddenly a virus!
I bet Ranchi and Geth have the best ability to kill ReapersReapers are great defenses against weapons that are normally blocked by shields like railguns and such. But once their shields are down they die just as easily as any other shipGeth have energy weapons which can bypass shields and Ranchi attacks also bypass shieldsSo try to make some sort of bioweapon or spam lasers and you're might stand a fighting chance
>>7941747"Oh, yeah. By the way, you know Horizon? Yeah, we made that a big ol' target for the Collectors."
>>7941665Just so you know, the upgraded guns installed on Normandy v2 ARE tech salvaged from Sovereign.
I destroyed it to spite that underhanded fucknut.
>>7941767Exactly, it's pretty much a brain dead assumption to think the Geth are not a serious arc in three, let alone the Rachni.
The recovery of the Reaper technology not only allows its use but also allows us to investigate their weaknesses, vulnerabilities and flaws. By researching the Reaper tech we will understand better our enemy and will give us a chance to victory.
>>7941692The Rachni are no longer hostile to sentient life now that they've been freed from the souring of their songs. The Geth heretics can be dealth with leaving the peaceful tech developing Geth behind. The Krogans? Well that's probably true but I'm guessing almost every paragon player didn't try to cure the genophage anyway and even if they did they saved Wrex and helped Grunt ensuring that the Krogan will have strong leadership to shape them into a more civilized race during their first few formative years without the genophage.
>>7941402Remember ME1, nothing good happens when Cerberus gets their hands on new tech. I'm not even convinced The Illusive Man is doing this for the betterment of humanity and not for some selfish reason.>>7941692>Massive Krogan rebellionsWrex isn't going to start any with with the council.>Rachni infestationsThe Rachni aren't evil or omnomnom, the only reason the previous war happened was because of the Reapers.>Geth invasions Geth don't want to invade, they want to become the ultimate NEET.
>>7941402Am I the only one who blew it the fuck up because I figured that Cerberus has fucked up every other time they've tried to use Reaper tech and they used up all their chances already?
Just really realized, but letting Cerberus have the base IS THE WORST POSSIBLE DECISION.Whoever they send there will be indoctrinated, so it will go back to doing what it was doing before, only with new people.Cerberus are douchebags who will kill humanity to save it. In ME1, I actually thought they were trying to crossbreed Rachni and humans. Not to mention they killed an Admiral who was only worried about his men, whom Cerberus offed.
>>7941713Yeah, same here, I would trust the Illusive man only as far I could throw himFor all his talk about duty and perservation of the human race, I remember what Cerberus didI remember the marines they left to die, the genetic experiments, the husksI remember Admiral Kahoku I'll never trust the Illusive man, no matter what he says
>>7941780In the uncounted millennia they've been trolling sentient life in our galaxy, you don't think the Reapers could have come up with ways to prevent that from happening?
>>7941767The climax of ME3, depending on the choices you made:The Migrant Fleet, the unified Geth and the Rachni fleet suddenly emerge to defend Citadel space from the Reapers, all of their ships armed with Krogan Cannons.Take a guess at what Krogan Cannons do.
>>7941785Alliance with the Geth -- pretty much means we are safe. It's a win/win situation. They get goodies, we get goodies, we fight after the Reapers are delt with. Mass Effect 4 here we come!
All my crew died."BUY US FOOD. WE NEED MORE COUPLINGS. I NEED BOOZE."I did a shitton of sidequests after it happened just to make sure the cunts died. All my characters survived, though.
I blew that shit up. There are way too many ways that station can come back and bit you in the ass. Cerberus faggotry aside, having a direct hotline to the reapers and their indoctrination shit isn't a brilliant idea, considering what happens to anyone but Shepard when facing them.Basically handing the reapers a ready reaper/god knows what else-factory chuck full of slaves (Cerberus people that can get indoctrinated) from a company that has detailed intel on everything in the galaxy, and specifically about Shep's whereabouts and ship, is retarded beyond belief. No, better blow that shit up and let them salvage the tech from all the ships that have passed through that relay over millions of years. You can be damn sure there's some awesome stuff in those wrecks anyway and it will be stuff the reapers haven't bothered analyzing or caring about.
not /tg/, continue on.
"Give me the station, Shepherd.""Give you a 50,000 year technological leg up on everyone else. Yeah, no."
I wou;dn't have given it to him even if I thought it was a good idea. I was the sole survivor of the attack on my troop that was conducted by those sick bastards. They took one of my men and experimented on him. They killed Kahoku and tried to raise a generation of Rachni to use them like dogs of war, just like the Reapers did. Screw him, I wish I could have blown up whatever base he's sitting on smoking that damn cigarette.
>>7941800>Take a guess at what Krogan Cannons do.They shoot very angry Krogans?
You know, I'm not one of those "gb2/v/" guys, but there's more /v/ content on the front page that there should be. How about some restrain guys ? It's already your what, 10th ME thread this day ?
Shepard was rebuild with Reaper tech. He has been indoctrinating everyone to worship him since the beggining of ME2. No Shepard...You are the Reaper.
>>7941821Exactly.
I read the op in his voice, even though it makes no sense.
>>7941783>The Rachni aren't evil or omnomnom, the only reason the previous war happened was because of the Reapers....exactly.They made Rachni go omnomnom once, they will make Rachni go omnomnom again.
>>7941808Don't forget their ability to build ships. If you see the Asari who's acting as a contact for the queen she says they not only fixed her broken ship but improved it in the span of a couple days. Those little bastards could have several fleets of ships up in a couple months if we got enough of them together.
>>7941783>Wrex isn't going to start any with with the council. He's gonna die someday, and then what?>The Rachni aren't evil or omnomnomNot yet>Geth don't want to invadeNever trust a robot.
>>7941819>They killed Kahoku;_;
Remember how, when blowing up the base, The Illusive Man hints towards that whenever he said 'for the betterment of humanity', he implied that he viewed Cerberus AS humanity? As in, everything he has done has been for Cerberus, as he believes only Cerberus has the gall to do what's necessary. He thinks Cerberus is the only part of humanity worth saving. Everything else is expendable. So fuck that asshole. I'm the fucking WARRIOR OF HUMANITY(and on occasion, quarians and geth,). Take your scheming plans and backstabbery and shove them up your ass along with your cybernetic eyes.
That thing is a Reaper baby makerno good will ever come of it
Personally, I destroyed the station... not because of my mistrust of the Illusive Man and/or the council. I destroyed the station because of the Krogan. I don't want humanity to wind up like that.
>>7941853Meant to quote this post. >>7941767
ITT: fags who doesn't understand that we are outnumbered, outgunned and technological behind the Reapers in all fields. We fight with an enemgy without sense of mercy or compassion. They have no moral constrains. Even if we win it will be a complete bloodbath.
Why couldn't they let me keep it all for Shepard? Shepard should rule the galaxy, he is the only one who ever gets anything done!
>>7941855>and then what?Chieftain Urdnot Grunt.>Never trust a robot.Geth don't lie - they don't understand how.
>>7941827You can't fight it, people are finishing the game as we speak. In a couple of weeks it'll get to normal, don't worry.Hot topic, what else can I say
>>7941894Thanks for saving me the typing.
>>7941821The Krogans are Angry Marines?
>>7941901I was disappointed. Legion was not nearly as creepy as I had hoped, but his dancing is intensely comical to me.And I never lost hope for a Tali/Grunt romance.
>>7941844Unless they will be able to resist it this time....hrm. Guess we'll have to see.
>>7941855Grunt is a proud member of clan Urdnot, if he stays to breed with the females and learns under Wrex that's another couple thousand years of leadership you can count on. By the time Grunt could take over the job of integrating Krogran into polite society would probably be damn near finished.
>Geth don't lie Yes they do, they invented a huge history based on non-existend stars just to troll the Asari.
>>7941894Mabe they can't lie, but one day they can conclude that organic life is a threat to glorious electronic master race. And baaaad things will happen.
>>7941912TALI/GARRUS
>>7941855>He's gonna die someday, and then what?Grunt takes over, he'll only start a war against the turians.>Not yetThey never were, and with the reapers gone never will be.>Never trust a robot. You can trust Legion, they have a collective crush on Shepard.
>>7941938I think it's far more likely that because of the Genophage and if Genophage 2.0 should ever come to light that the Krogan will destroy the Solarians.
First playthrough, I thought about what Sagan would do. So I blew it up.Then on my second I went pro humanity and kept it.
I bet Conrad Verner is pissed, he's been stalking Shepard for twice as long as Legion and gets none of the love.
>>7941953Grunt doesn't give a shit about the Genophage, he simply hates Turians.
>>7941966Too bad for... Warner, was it?He isn't neither awesome nor a robot.
Puny creatures of matter. We are coming.
>>7941878This.At least Cerberus isn't as corrupted as Alliance. If Alliance got that base, they would engage enough bureaucracy to make a 1:1 papercraft of the station.Illusive Man gets shit done. He is a CEO of most archetypical corporation in the universe, yet he has balls to invest into saving the galaxy. Have you heard about corporations saving the galaxy? He just did.I may not entirely trust him, he may do things behind my back. But he gives you a new life, a better fucking ship and free hand to get shit done. What did Alliance do for me? What did Council do for me? Huh?
>>7941535>I gave him that station for the same reason I preserved the Krogan cure, saved th Rachi Queen, Killed the Council, United te Geth and encourage the Quarians to peace: The Reapers are far to big thread to ignore any possible help or resources.>Killed the CouncilOh wow. Now that REALLY HELPED right there. Human alliance military is too busy putting down alien rebellions. Aliens are too busy having anti-human race riots and rebellions. Entire mass effect gate network is shutdown for non-human traffic so as the asari/salarian/turian fleets can't reclaim the Citadel, destroying the galactic economy as a side effect. Great job there.
>>7941938"So, why did you repair yourself with my armour?""... There was a hole.""But you could've repaired it sooner and with better materials.""... No data available."
>>7941968Yes, but listen to the unrest and suffering because of the Genophage, the issue will never be resolved, let alone Mordin holding the keys to their salvation or damnation. Think about it. Total Krogan Unity = Solarians being at a handful (at best) so they can focus elsewhere.
>>7941988And he can't take a rail round to the chest and just shrug it off.
When you are going to destroy the collector base you should ask yourself: What would batman do? Research the fuck of it.
How the hell do you prevent Legion from getting a face full of rocket?
>>7941996After joker's run through the ship, talk to the newly unlocked EDI about Cerberus is just a front for the Alliance military industrial complex. They don't want to save humanity, they want to make a huge profit.
>>7942014Garrus should be the leader, not someone like Zaeed, I made the mistake countless times.
You know, I've never told someone to gb2/v/, but I used to sort of silently agree with those fellows who tried to enforce board topic cohesion......but any more, I'm perfectly fine if /tg/ wants to occasionally be "/v/ with less trollan" rather than "40K AND EDITION WARS"
>>7941998I killed the council being paragon. The result is WAY different:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MNMN2dKbKI
>>7942024I had Garrus as the leader, god damnit.
>>7941932If organic don't threaten the Geth, they wont attack either. You probably haven't taken Legion to flotilla, so you might not know, but Legion said that the quarians attacked in 100% cases when they were sure they'd win. Meaning, that the true Geth only self-defended. That's why they all are beyond Perseus Veil, they just want to be left the fuck alone and allowed to exist, and that's why Legion was sent in the galaxy - to find Shepard and serve as an ambassador of the Geth. Legion did say, that the Geth plans will only affect organics if they involve themselves.Basically, the Geth might attack only when the organics would be preparing to do the same. No "lol I trol u" betrayals during the battle against the Reapers or shit like that.
>>7942019So everyone who went full Renegade, obeyed Cerberus and the Illusive man was just a puppet of the MAN?>imokaywiththis.jpeg
>>7942036best ending by far
>>7942014You gain his loyalty and do not use him as a Squad Leader, Biotic Specialist, Distraction or Escort. Also, make sure you are using:a) Tali as your Tech specialistb) Samara or Subject Zero as your Biotic specialistc) Garrus, Miranda or Jacob as your squad leaders
>>7942043Need him fully loyal (side quest).
>>7942014Garrus as second team leader. Both have loyalty. It's really not that difficult, bub.
>>7942036Yeah, that's just 10 minutes later. 2 years later it all goes to crap. Do Thane's loyalty mission and you find out how horrible things are. It's 1939 germany in spaaace.
>>7941998>Oh wow. Great job there.FAIL. if you kill the council being paragon then nothing of this happens.
>>7942056Oh silly me, I sided with Tali in their little confrontation. I apologise I should've remembered that.
>>7942063They are way better because everybody is becoming military stronger. When the Reapers comes we will be ready.
>>7942085I hear you can talk to him later and tell him you were lying to regain his loyalty. I have yet needed to do so though as by the time that occurs on any of my playthroughs I've been able to talk them both down.
>>7942085I had a similar problem. Jack and Miranda, I had to remind them they needed to work together. Unless Jack was the biotic specialist with me on the suicide mission she'd always die. It was strange.
>>7942044>Geth plans will only affect organics if they involve themselvesWhat I'm hoping is that by pushing the quarians to retake their homeworld while using Legion as a pipeline to Geth, I'll talk Geth into quietly leaving the quarian's home in exchange for peace. Hell, might even get Geth to assist in a quarian-drell genetic engineering program.
>>7942049I used Legion as Tech specialist.Garrus as fireteam leader both times.Jack as biotic tech.Thane to escort survivors. All loyal, all upgrades to ship. Everyone survived.Funky part is that I've romanced Tali, and got her with me trough all the time. And I saved her from falling to death in the last fight. Scared the shit out of me.
I gave him the station because I hope he use it's full potential so humanity, with me as it's spearhead, will dominate the universe
I'm still regretting letting the rachni queen live, i did it because i was presented the facts that it will help in mass effect 2 and that the last war they were being manipulated by the reapers but it still feels wrong to the depths of my core, guess they will curse my name when the rachni develop a taste of human flesh.
>>7942129Geth already left the quarian home world, talk to legion more. The geth (the orthodox geth that is) are all busy building a giant dyson's sphere computer where they can all upload themselves and live in harmony. The only geth left on the quarian home world is a few janitorial and maintenance staff, keeping it as it was when the quarians left.
>>7942149Go to illisium in ME2, talk to rachni embassador, she tells you that she'll help out in the reaper battles later on.
