Just finished. All survived on all upgrades, mostly paragon and all that shit. And you know what?

I gave him that station. Because besides his agenda, my mistrust for him and generally him being a huge renegade jerk... He cares.

I can't put my finger on it, but I felt sorry when I chose to shut him out after he said that we need each other.

How far can you go while doing good? I had no doubts for quite a time. Now I have. Sometimes being all paladin is simply stupid. Some people don't understand anything but sheer violence. Some deserve it.

I just hope he puts it to good use. I'll keep an eye on him.

I blew it up. The Illusive Man only cares about getting Humanity to the top of the political pile, and doesn't give a shit what way he goes about it. The Shepard I ran wants Humanity recognised as equal to the other Council races - not better than them - and that humanity should earn this right by going out and doing good shit that promotes galactic unity. Instead of trying all sorts of bastardly underhand methods to get into power.

It is not about humanity though. You have seen what Reapers can do. You have seen how many of them are coming.

Do you really think we should ditch every chance to improve our defences against them?

I gave him that station for the same reason I preserved the Krogan cure, saved th Rachi Queen, Killed the Council, United te Geth and encourage the Quarians to peace: The Reapers are far to big thread to ignore any possible help or resources.

I was pure paragon, and I was going to give him the Reaper. But then I thought about it. Thought about what Legion and Mordin had said. Humanity isn't ready for that kind of power, isn't ready to use it properly. And even if we were, the reapers have dictated our socio-technological development for too long. We don't need tech they know and understand, we need tech that is as alien to them as they are to us.

I bet Ranchi and Geth have the best ability to kill Reapers

Reapers are great defenses against weapons that are normally blocked by shields like railguns and such. But once their shields are down they die just as easily as any other ship

Geth have energy weapons which can bypass shields and Ranchi attacks also bypass shields

So try to make some sort of bioweapon or spam lasers and you're might stand a fighting chance

The Rachni are no longer hostile to sentient life now that they've been freed from the souring of their songs. The Geth heretics can be dealth with leaving the peaceful tech developing Geth behind. The Krogans? Well that's probably true but I'm guessing almost every paragon player didn't try to cure the genophage anyway and even if they did they saved Wrex and helped Grunt ensuring that the Krogan will have strong leadership to shape them into a more civilized race during their first few formative years without the genophage.

Whoever they send there will be indoctrinated, so it will go back to doing what it was doing before, only with new people.

Cerberus are douchebags who will kill humanity to save it. In ME1, I actually thought they were trying to crossbreed Rachni and humans. Not to mention they killed an Admiral who was only worried about his men, whom Cerberus offed.

I blew that shit up. There are way too many ways that station can come back and bit you in the ass. Cerberus faggotry aside, having a direct hotline to the reapers and their indoctrination shit isn't a brilliant idea, considering what happens to anyone but Shepard when facing them.

Basically handing the reapers a ready reaper/god knows what else-factory chuck full of slaves (Cerberus people that can get indoctrinated) from a company that has detailed intel on everything in the galaxy, and specifically about Shep's whereabouts and ship, is retarded beyond belief.

No, better blow that shit up and let them salvage the tech from all the ships that have passed through that relay over millions of years. You can be damn sure there's some awesome stuff in those wrecks anyway and it will be stuff the reapers haven't bothered analyzing or caring about.

After joker's run through the ship, talk to the newly unlocked EDI about Cerberus is just a front for the Alliance military industrial complex. They don't want to save humanity, they want to make a huge profit.

Garrus should be the leader, not someone like Zaeed, I made the mistake countless times.

You know, I've never told someone to gb2/v/, but I used to sort of silently agree with those fellows who tried to enforce board topic cohesion...

...but any more, I'm perfectly fine if /tg/ wants to occasionally be "/v/ with less trollan" rather than "40K AND EDITION WARS"

I killed the council being paragon. The result is WAY different:

If organic don't threaten the Geth, they wont attack either. You probably haven't taken Legion to flotilla, so you might not know, but Legion said that the quarians attacked in 100% cases when they were sure they'd win. Meaning, that the true Geth only self-defended. That's why they all are beyond Perseus Veil, they just want to be left the fuck alone and allowed to exist, and that's why Legion was sent in the galaxy - to find Shepard and serve as an ambassador of the Geth. Legion did say, that the Geth plans will only affect organics if they involve themselves.

Basically, the Geth might attack only when the organics would be preparing to do the same. No "lol I trol u" betrayals during the battle against the Reapers or shit like that.

So everyone who went full Renegade, obeyed Cerberus and the Illusive man was just a puppet of the MAN?

You gain his loyalty and do not use him as a Squad Leader, Biotic Specialist, Distraction or Escort.

Also, make sure you are using:
    a) Tali as your Tech specialist
    b) Samara or Subject Zero as your Biotic specialist
    c) Garrus, Miranda or Jacob as your squad leaders

Need him fully loyal (side quest).

Garrus as second team leader. Both have loyalty. It's really not that difficult, bub.

Yeah, that's just 10 minutes later. 2 years later it all goes to crap. Do Thane's loyalty mission and you find out how horrible things are. It's 1939 germany in spaaace.

    >Oh wow. Now that REALLY HELPED right there. Human alliance military is too busy putting down alien rebellions. Aliens are too busy having anti-human race riots and rebellions. Entire mass effect gate network is shutdown for non-human traffic so as the asari/salarian/turian fleets can't reclaim the Citadel, destroying the galactic economy as a side effect. Great job there.

FAIL. if you kill the council being paragon then nothing of this happens.

I hear you can talk to him later and tell him you were lying to regain his loyalty. I have yet needed to do so though as by the time that occurs on any of my playthroughs I've been able to talk them both down.

I had a similar problem. Jack and Miranda, I had to remind them they needed to work together. Unless Jack was the biotic specialist with me on the suicide mission she'd always die. It was strange.

    >Geth plans will only affect organics if they involve themselves
What I'm hoping is that by pushing the quarians to retake their homeworld while using Legion as a pipeline to Geth, I'll talk Geth into quietly leaving the quarian's home in exchange for peace. Hell, might even get Geth to assist in a quarian-drell genetic engineering program.

I used Legion as Tech specialist.

Garrus as fireteam leader both times.

    Jack as biotic tech.

    Thane to escort survivors.

All loyal, all upgrades to ship. Everyone survived.

Funky part is that I've romanced Tali, and got her with me trough all the time. And I saved her from falling to death in the last fight. Scared the shit out of me.

I'm still regretting letting the rachni queen live, i did it because i was presented the facts that it will help in mass effect 2 and that the last war they were being manipulated by the reapers but it still feels wrong to the depths of my core, guess they will curse my name when the rachni develop a taste of human flesh.

Geth already left the quarian home world, talk to legion more. The geth (the orthodox geth that is) are all busy building a giant dyson's sphere computer where they can all upload themselves and live in harmony. The only geth left on the quarian home world is a few janitorial and maintenance staff, keeping it as it was when the quarians left.

Go to illisium in ME2, talk to rachni embassador, she tells you that she'll help out in the reaper battles later on.
