CLASSIC - if you aint ever seen this movie - watch it today! let me tell you, you thought the gunfight in the matrix was crazy... WAIT TILL YOU SEE THIS!!! THIS IS THE GANGSTER MOVIE TO END ALL GANGSTER MOVIES!!!

    Description:
    The Beast of the City
    MGM, 1932
Walter Huston, Jean Harlow, Jean Hersholt, Wallace Ford, Tully Marshall
    Directed by Charles J. Brabin
    Produced by Hunt Stromberg
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0022660/

Called "one of the greatest crime films most people have never seen", The Beast of the City is "a reactionary answer to the success of films such as The Public Enemy that glamorized the life of the gangster." MGM wanted to condemn the era's romantic notion of the mob-boss-as-playboy,so they had writer W.R. Burnett (Little Caesar, The Asphalt Jungle, High Sierra, This Gun For Hire, Scarface) shift the emphasis from criminals to crime-fighters while keeping the genre's hard edges intact. The result plays like gangbusters.

Appreciate your enthusiasm, OP, but it appears you've neglected to adhere rule 1 of /t/. This is also a Global rule.

    /t/ - Torrents

    1. All material licensed in the United States is prohibited. This includes music, manga, hentai, artbooks, and anything else protected by United States copyright law. (Note: 99% of what you will find on the internet is probably unlicensed, however first check and make sure it is before posting!)

Might want to delete your thread before B&.

I was under the impression that copyrights on Hollywood pictures expire after 75 years. I know MGM opened up their entire library along with united artists (prior to tom cruise reviving it)

    >I was under the impression that copyrights on Hollywood pictures expire after 75 years.
This is true. I suppose if the copyright hasn't been renewed, then its under public domain.

(Not trying to be a rulefag or anything, just looking out for fellow anons)
However, there is rule 3 of /t/.

    3. Content should be Japanese in theme or origin. The torrents board is not your standard anime tracker. As such, no anime of any kind is to be posted on this board.

With the helvetica thread still up though, I'm having my doubts that this thread is in the wrong. I haven't reported you, in case you're wondering. Thanks for the torrent, nonetheless.

fuck you you stupid asshole. know one on 4chan gives a fuck what you report or not, "fellow anon". first, you are an idiot for not realizing that the movie is not copyrighted. second, you are a pretentions fag for thinking anyone gives a shit about you and your reporting. get out of my /t/ FAST. third, op was posting original, cool, interesting content which is way above the usual shite that gets posted in /t/ recently. not everything in 4chan has to be related to japanese "culture" (hahaha. calling japanese media "culture" is like calling the furry stuff "art"). still here? now GTFO.

Does it really even affect you? Were you planning on remaking a movie but found out it was copyrighted or something?

I take it you're OP again. Thanks again for the torrent. Its been a while since I tuned into TCM. Great times. Great movie. Good ol classics.

I recommend everyone dl the movie, truly outstanding performance. The audio and video are a bit of sync, but still bearable.

    It's me from,

I'm glad the mod/janitor stepped in, saying its ok to leave the thread up. My only concern was to eliminate any unnecessary B& Hammers from a generous poster. I should have checked the date of the film though and for that I apologize.

    >>260158
    Cry some more.

You're right, I should have checked copyright before my cross examination. Still, they are the rules of /t/ and yes I was looking out for our "fellow anon" who happens to be OP. As I said earlier, prior to knowing the movie's creation date,
"Might get B&". Yes, disregard my previous posts, I suck cocks.

Without rules & regulation, its just another random /b/oard. Don't get me wrong, I've frequented /t/ for years and see nothing but JAV after JAV. Sometimes even a few English subbed movies here and there pop up occasionally. It would be great to upload "uncopyrighted" torrents from other countries other than japan.

    >like calling the furry stuff "art"
    I lol'd. QFT.

i dont get why everyone says the gunfight is so special. it looked like a regular old-timey gunfight to me...

Why do you have a screencap from Scarface when you're sharing another film?
