Why did the queen of England have gloves on when in the presence of the greatest sportsman in Europe.

That's very disrespectful, explain yourself Brits.
>>
Because she has too much ass for him.
>>
>Touching dirty Irish without gloves

It's called cleanliness you potato nigger.

Classic O Gara

does that old bitch think that she is somehow better than other people or what?

Why is he addressing the queen with his hands in his pockets?

Talk about real disrespect
>>

She is better than most other people.

she didn't want to contract the potato virus

O'Gara not giving a fuck
>>

Nah, she is. Richer, more famous, better spoken, probably smarter and definitely better turned out.

She's objectively a better human being than you.

Brits so worried about respect and what not, they can't even keep muslims out because they fear being too unkind

don't forget her cult of tradition legion of white knights
>>
I hope you're talking about o'driacoll when you say the greatest sportsman in Europe.

ROG isn't even the 2nd greatest out half in ireland
>>
>>26699326
I always hoped of meeting her so i could call her a sloppy dyke and spit on her
>>
>>26698989
Here's the strange part.

The whole meeting the queen thing after the grand slam was a concession to the Northern element of the Irish team. For the players themselves it was an optional thing whether they wanted to attend or not. Most of them didn't go but ROG apparently decided to go and then did that.

The ultimate wind up merchant, I admire his dedication.
>>
I'd honestly treat JK Rowling with more respect than I would the brit "queen". She's richer and more talented.

>If a queen dies unexpectedly and the workers are unable to raise an emergency queen to replace her, the colony will fail. Stimulated by the absence of a queen and the pheromones she secretes as well as the absence of new larvae, worker bees will sometimes begin laying eggs. However, only the queen bee has the instinct and ability to mate. Eggs laid by workers will still hatch, but because they are not fertilized, they will all be drones, or male bees. Drones do not collect any food or do any work, so the number of productive bees will dwindle until the colony disappears. The only hope for a queenless hive is for a new queen to be introduced from outside the hive by a beekeeper.

Kill the queen and the empire will fall

>>
>>26700021
Not the other guy but the Lions concept is pretty ridiculous. I've no problem playing with Brits in a European team but a mish mash of countries for the Lions while excluding France and Italy is implying some sort of shared cultural identity between us which people don't like or agree with.

No. We dislike what happened, but we don't hate the british of today. I think ye make up a large percentage of our immigrants and I've never had any problems with any of ye. >>
>>26700329
What the constitution actually says doesn't really matter any more. We're not gonna have another civil war or anything.

If the people want the monarchy gone, then it will be gone.
>>
>>26700298

the reality is that Britain and Ireland are 2 of a whole bunch of islands, all huddled together, off the coast of Europe

these islands will always be linked together, globally
>>
>>26700261
Do you think they're not? Perhaps the whole Test thing is ingrained in your culture more than ours, what with cricket and all.
>>
>>26700370

i'd imagine there'd have to be some sort of process for its removal. i doubt it's as simple as you're making it out to be.
>>
>>26700370

>constitution doesn't matter

Fuck. I'm so glad I don't live in a country where people think it's ok to think this.
>>
>>26700374
Economically, it's not like we have a problem with that. Culturally though, we're still pretty different. I mean, compare the british modernists to the irish modernists. Even though the influence of your culture runs through what was written, it's still very different.
>>
>>26700358
Well they're every 4 years and it's such a huge thing having 5 nations as one. The biggest test series in rugby is what I'd call it.
>>
>>26700382
Nothing to do with cricket (hate cricket btw), all rugby nations play test series against other nations or have you managed to miss that?
>>
>>26700410
I don't know the ins and outs, and I have no idea whether there is any sort of formal process formally worked out.

But it's the sort of thing that would take time anyway. There'd have to be a swell of public support, then a referendum process before anything actually started to happen. The point I'm trying to make is that if the public wanted the monarchy gone, I find it very hard to believe the royal family would show much opposition to it.
>>
So the idea I'm getting from this thread is that Brits understand having monarchs isn't rational (even if they have no real power) but it's a part of their culture and they're mostly okay with it anyway?
>>
>>26700336
It's not about love or hate, we don't want to be associated with anyone since we're an independent country with an independent identity and culture.
Stuff like the Lions annoys people because they don't like that "Atlantic islands" or whatever you want to call them shared identity. It's the same with the EU in fact, because of our history people are very sensitive to being grouped in with anyone else whatsoever. We're neutral politically to absolutely every conflict as well.

We just want to be left alone and be a NEET country.
>>
>>26700486
how did you figure that from this thread? I guess you had those thought before this thread
>>
>Post a picture from 2009
>100+ replies

You are good at this.
>>
>>26700487
But is playing together for 3 games of rugby every 4 years really that big of a deal? It's not like we're making you to join the Union again.
>>
>>26700470
No, but rugby has only become truly popular here recently. As in, a popularity that rivals hurling, football and soccer.
>>
>>26700486
I don't really see how having an unelected, politically-neutral HoS is any less rational that having an unelected politically-motivated HoS.

Democracy is difficult. But if there were things to change about British politics, I think there are better places to start than abolishing the monarchy.
>>
>>26700486
yeah, you do have to take into account history, if it was year zero we all got to decide; we would probably go for president not queen as well. But we have a prime minister to run our country now. Replacing the queen tomorrow would literally mean replacing her with a president who would be head of state only and have no official powers. If we have to have one might as well make it the one who represents hundreds of years of history and tradition.
>>
It's like my main nigga Bertrand Russell said,

"The law of causation,… is a relic of a bygone age, surviving, like the monarchy, only because it is erroneously supposed to do no harm.”
>>
>>26700539
Right ok, but we were talking about 'test culture'. Well done for sticking to the point.
>>
>>26700486

yeh, i mean, she has world "relevance", in that everyone in the world knows who she is, just from her profile of her head on a coin, let alone a picture of her face

if you saw a picture of the German President (not Merkel, she's the Chancellor), you wouldn't know who the fuck he is
>>
>>26700538
Practically yes because it'd benefit all of our players to have the summer off rather than spend a couple of months down under in difficult tests. A fair few players last time round like TOL, Ferris and Flannery took knocks on that tour which damaged their next season in a big way.
It's the same for all the countries but it's politically a lot more appealing for them and considered risks worth taking.

For me personally as a Munster fan I'll be hoping as few as our players as possible are selected for this. We had the most the last time and our form slumped downwards in a big way after it.
>>
>>26700660
That's why test culture doesn't factor into our mindset as much. The fanbase is new.
>>
>>26700637
Your name is a misnomer.
>>
>>26700676
