    classic defence mechanism

Your clubs entire goal is to get to the premier league, but you call ones that made it bandwagon. if your club made it to the premiership would you suddenly become a shit fan?

whatever helps you sleep at night

only for about 9 or 10 teams out of the 72 in the football league,

The vast majority just want entertaining football, where wins come relatively often, and financial stability. Most don't care about long term dreams of EPL status, it's more about the short term, we want to beat them *insert town* bastards on Saturday.

    Wednesday fan here

I just know that us and United are gonna finish in the playoffs, and the final will be a steel city derby. I wouldn't be able to handle it. It would just be to much.

    So much this!!!

It's actually more common here in sp to bandwagon shit-tier team. Hipsters think they become suddenly die hard fans when they support lower league teams. I bet the most of you don't even live in those citys, it's just cool to support a "nonplastic" team. Fuck i hate these guys
    >> Anonymous 01/03/12(Tue)10:54 No.17588848
    >>17588755

How many fans on /sp/ of Man Utd, City, Lavorpell, Arsenal or any of the big Prem clubs go to games or have a strong tie to the club? I'd wager next to none. They are bandwagonners

Whereas if you meet a football league fan, almost all of them will go to their team's games. Unless they work in Indonesia or some shit, in which case it's excusable.

OP's statement was largely accurate, stop being a retard.

me and my mates always pick a team from the championship to be our team to follow in that league for the year, last year it was Norwich, year before it was Blackpool, year before that Burnley, this year Southampton, see where im going with this?

lol no one is bandwagonning any non EPL team in England, except maybe a Leeds or a Southampton or a Nottingham Forest (i.e one who will definitely return to the EPL sooner or later)

that's the difference betwen the majority (not all) of EPL and non EPL fans. Non EPL fans are there to stay, whatever the results, primarily because they became a supporter either because of location (grew up in the town/city) or a parent who passed it on. You don't choose your non EPL team generally, you're born with it. In that respect, winning isn't everything; in fact, winning is irrelevant in terms of whether you support or not. That's why non EPL fans laugh when they see a Liverpool or Arsenal fan masturbating over how loyal they are to support a poor famished team who only finished 5th/6th/7th in the top tier that year. Boo fucking hoo. There's nothing more pathetic than a scouser or Arsenal faggot jacking off over how their fans stick with the club through thick and thin, when both these clubs have never had a "thin" period in their existence. Man City, on the other hand, have done so. Their support has been tested, and they were getting 30,000s in the 3rd division. Do you think Liverpool would get 30,000s? They got a 22,000 last year at a cup game.

    you're a bandwaggoner
    >Have only started supporting them in the last 5 years
    you're a bandwaggoner
    >Live in the same city as your team and have supported them since you were a kid

There are probably Man Utd fans out there who were born in Manchester, go to some games, have a decent grasp of football throughout the leagues, who aren't arrogant and who can appreciate when another side plays good football.

    Not on /sp/ though.

After going 10 hours without a goal before putting in 3 yesterday, I'm surprised Forest ever had such a barren run in the first place. Granted Ipswich have the leakiest defence I believe, I'll feel much more confident if we can find an established striker this January transfer.
