  • /mu/'s favorite bro deadmau5 is hanging out here: http://boards.4chan.org/mu/res/21004009

Two of three migrations down, one to go. Expect some short downtime tomorrow afternoon or evening. Site should be much faster already.
Feedback welcome on AIM at SN "MOOTCHAT"

Server migration complete. New hardware brought online should make things noticeably faster. Enjoy!
PS: Some more goodies coming later this week.

FedEx was(is still I guess) a technological superbeast, but it has some some very terrible obstructed views and because of the redskins consistent failings it fails to produce the same kind of vibrant atmosphere RFK did

Yeah, because he played so terribly in the then state-of-the-art United Center. That place (Chicago Stadium) was on the verge of collapse when he started playing there, and was tiny by today's standards (18k compared to the 22k seats that they have today - still not enough)

That's not fair. In its heyday, it was one of the greatest stadiums. Sure it was shit by the end. But it was great when it hadn't been so rundown.

yeah he sure played terribly at the united center with his three championships there and all.
he loved it because it was loud and the crowd was practically on top of the court.

We're not talking about heydays, we're talking about "Missed stadiums".

I've never heard a single person in Chicago talk about how much they miss Chicago Stadium, not even my dad and grandpa who grew up going there. Nobody on /sp/ misses it, because 99.9% of the people from Chicago on here are too young to have ever been there, and while I'm old enough to have been there numerous times, I'm EXCEEDINGLY happy it's gone.

How does it being a nice stadium in its heyday have anything to do with people missing it? Most people's memories of it now are of the decrepit building that was falling apart long before it was torn down.

Texas A&M just got rid of Olsen Field, if college baseball is worthy of mention.

I would always go to our away games there, because the student section had the best hecklers. I've seen elderly people leave the stands after some of the shit they said.

It's Blue Bell Park or someshit now. Lame.
