  • /mu/'s favorite bro deadmau5 is hanging out here: http://boards.4chan.org/mu/res/21004009

Two of three migrations down, one to go. Expect some short downtime tomorrow afternoon or evening. Site should be much faster already.
Feedback welcome on AIM at SN "MOOTCHAT"

Server migration complete. New hardware brought online should make things noticeably faster. Enjoy!
PS: Some more goodies coming later this week.

The fact that he is accepting the majority of all the bad press just proves that he loves penn state more than life itself. Jumping on the grenade for his beloved Nittany Lions.

he didn't see, bro. he was told and that's not grounds for anything.

    >>16297031

"grounds for" means nothing. If you hear of something this substantial, you do what you can to make sure it's investigated. Joe Paterno isn't a grand jury, he's a man, and as such, he doesn't need evidence to be concerned and active.
    >> Anonymous 11/10/11(Thu)01:51 No.16297180
    >>16297100

I'm sorry, dude, but you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. It's easy to say all this shit, but it's incredibly unrealistic.

He didn't fail anyone legally, morally or any other way. You think you know what you would have done or what should have been done, but you obviously have no real life experience.

Enjoying throwing stones out of your glass house.

    >>16297180

    >He didn't fail anyone legally, morally or any other way.

Legally, no. Morally, yes. He was told that some children were being sexually abused by his own staff members, and the best he could do was report it to his AD? Especially after nothing comes of that?

    >You think you know what you would have done or what should have been done, but you obviously have no real life experience.

Nobody on this board has experience in a situation anywhere near this caliber. If we're invalidating opinions on that basis, there's absolutely no point to discussion.

    >Enjoying throwing stones out of your glass house.

Why the hell are you being so hostile...?

    >Why the hell are you being so hostile...?

Because you are being so unrealistic. I'm sorry, but for reasons I won't go into it's hard to take what you say seriously.

    >Legally, no. Morally, yes. He was told that some children were being sexually abused by his own staff members, and the best he could do was report it to his AD? Especially after nothing comes of that?

He took the GA to the university and to College PD. Joe Paterno's "evidence" amounts to nothing.

It's easy to say Paterno should have gone to the police with his special knowledge, but in reality he had no "special knowledge". He had no evidence under state law. He had nothing. You realise that Sandusky was not a staff member either, right? He didn't work there anymore.

The only one who had evidence enough to start an investigation was the GA and, you know what, maybe Paterno did tell him to go to the police. We don't know anything.

This is a stupid situation full of assumptions about Paterno and also about Penn law and policing.

It wasn't ever about evidence. It was about hearing something horrible and doing everything in your power to see to it it's taken care of. Nobody catches wind of an awful crime and figures they shouldn't tell the authorities because they personally don't have the evidence to prosecute the alleged offender. At the very least, they hand it off to the police and see what they can do.

...no, I won't. And again, with the hostility.

Am I losing my mind? He took it to the AD and that was it, unless everything I've read has been incorrect.
    >> Anonymous 11/10/11(Thu)02:16 No.16297561
    >>16297403

He fucking did tell the authorities and it went nowhere. He would need the GA's co-operation and that might be enough to open an investigation.

I'm sorry, but this isn't based in any fact or even any experience. People always think if they saw a pedophile they would do a 360 super dragon kick and rip his heart out with their bare hands.

    It's pure fantasy.

This whole situation is fucked up and I really feel that. I'm not an apologist or anything. I am just being realistic.

It's not what he was expected to do legally. He did what he was realistically expected to do as a human being. What a "reasonable person" would do (to use legal terms).
