Alright /sp/. I'm sick and tired of the utter shit qb power rankings on this board. They're all bad and you should all feel bad for posting them.

So here it is, after much deliberation, my loser friends and i have made the definitive QB power ranking list. No trolling, no favoritism, no bias. These rankings were made on statistics and how relevant the QB is to their respective team.

Also, this is for the 2011 season. It has no bearing on how good or bad quarterbacks were in the past, its for THIS SEASON ONLY. This is important to note because thats where the majority of trolling and disagreements come in when discussing a list like this. Of course, if you look at a quarterbacks entire career, Aaron Rodgers (who has only been elite for a season and a half) would not stack up against the likes of Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, but i digress, thats not what this list is about. this list is for THIS SEASON AND THIS SEASON ONLY. What follows is the list and an explanation on some of the more controversial positionings.

    Finally:
    >inb4 trolling
    >inb4 biased favoritism
    >inb4 talking about Tebow turns this into a christfag vs atheistfag argument.
    >inb4 making this list doesnt matter anyway and the thread turns into a giant wall of greentext

    >> The Manningface !!6c757NE1yJ1 11/08/11(Tue)16:48 No.16265415
    1. Aaron Rodgers - Yes his schedule has been soft, but he's singlehandedly placed an average team (bad defense, bad line) on his shoulders and led them to a perfect record. Sounds like #1 in my book.
    2. Drew Brees
    3. Eli Manning - Yes Eli is better than Brady. REMEMBER, THIS IS A LIST OF 2011 QUARTERBACKS. Of course Tom Brady's career has been leagues better than Eli's. Of course Tom Brady is a hall of fame quarterback and Eli hasnt proven that yet, but right now, in 2011, '11 Eli is better than '11 Brady. He proved that on Sunday and has been proving that all month.
    4. Tom Brady - See Eli Manning.
    5. rapistburger
    6. The Stafford Infection
    7. Andy Dalton - Cam Newton has more eyepopping statistics, but Andy Dalton has been more successful, has thrown for more TD's and less INT's and doesn't have a great veteran WR like Steve Smith to throw to.
    8. Cam Newton - But that don't mean that Cam Newton isn't great. Almost 300 yards per game in a rookie season, plus all those rushing TDs? thats never been done before.
    9. Mike Vick - Remember, this is 2011, not 2010. The fact is that Vick hasn't been playing consistent enough to keep him among a list of Elites. The only reason he's top 10 is because he has the moves to make a play when his WR's can't.
    10. Fitzmagic - One bad game against the Jets doesn't erase what he's done the whole season, and that is make the Bills competitive with literal nobodies. His best WR is a seventh round draft pick.
    11. Philip Rivers - Nowhere near consistent enough to be considered Top 10 this season.
    12. Jay Cutler
    13. Alex Smith - Yes his team has only lost once, but its not because of Alex Smith, any not completely blinded Niners fans will tell you that.
    14. Matt Hasselbeck
    >> Anonymous 11/08/11(Tue)16:49 No.16265433
    >>16265415

Pretty good list. I'd move Cutler up into the top 10 though. I think he's better than Vick or Newton.
    >> The Manningface !!6c757NE1yJ1 11/08/11(Tue)16:49 No.16265438
    >FUCKING FLOOD DETECTED

    15. Joe Flacco - One heartstopping Game winning drive doesnt erase the consistent bad performances hes been dishing out this year.
    16. Matt Ryan - Irrelevent this year.
    17. Christian Ponder
    18. Tony Homo - The Anti-Clutch extraordinaire.
    19. Carson Palmer - One ok game + one terrible game = low rating
    20. Matt Schaub - Completely irrelevant. Matt Leinart can be behind center and pump the ball to Foster too.
    21. Josh Freeman - Has anyone other than bucs fans heard anything about this guy at any point this year?
    22. Matt Cassell - When he's bad he's awful. When he's good, he's average.
    23. Mark Sanchez - Completely irrelevant on a team who pumps it to their running back and relies on their defense to win games. Even so he still manages
    24. Sam Bradford
    25. Tim Tebow - See Joe Flacco. One good game does not equal one good qb.
    26. Kevin Kolb
    27. Tarvaris Jackson
    28. Matt Moore
    29. Colt McCoy
    30. Blaine Gabbert - No he doesn't throw INT's, but he doesnt throw touchdowns either.
    31. John Beck/Rex Grossman
    32. Curtis Painter

    Deal with it.

but op, eli is painfully average
he has good stats but he doesn't pass the eye test whatsoever; his passes are rarely on target, he throws many interceptions that are dropped inexplicably, his most famous throw was incredibly shitty in triple coverage, overthrown between 3 defenders that was just shit lucky, and he only performs well when he has a great running game and no pressure on him in the pocket
you're giving yourself away with your trip, you're biased, and your power rankings are just as shitty as the ones you say are so bad

Made this point a couple days ago. Who's Ramses BArden? or Victor Cruz? or Jake Ballard? Fucking nobodies thats who, but Eli Manning makes them play at a high standard. None of these players would make any other compitent NFL team, and yet they put up good numbers and Eye popping stats because Eli is throwing the ball to them.

Yes in the past Eli has been horrible, sub par, shitty and lucky. But this year he's top 3. undoubtedly. He's really stepped his game up and he is the only reason the Giants are 6-2

Still think people are rating Flacco too low for this season

He's been playing average ball this year, but he's swept us (the Steelers) this season, sticking the knife in the D in a game winning drive last Sunday, and his team is looking at a solid playoff spot right now

Now, I fully expect Flacco to blow it in the playoffs...I never thought he was a clutch postseason QB....but as it stands he's putting together a respectable season

    Oh I did

Again, doesnt change the fact that hes whooped his main division rivals (my team, the Steelers) twice in the same season

The fact that he's playing shit ball against shit teams keeps him from the top 5 this season....but he's playing good ball against the Steelers and thats really his main priority. When it comes down to the AFC North, basically you just worry about that one other team and if you beat them you're doing fine

Flacco can play as shitty as he likes, cause Suggs Lewis Reed et. al. can worry about picking up the slack....all he has to to do is not blow it against the Steelers and thats what he did

I will not back down from my assessment that Flacco is an overall subpar QB....but also the fact that he is having a good season

The list wouldnt be almost perfect if Dalton wasnt that high, and Eli and Brady were switched. With a top 10 defense like Cincy, Dalton's in a great situation. You cant also just take Brady's 1 game last game into account. Hes still clutch, and doesnt throw interceptions. IMO hes been better than Manning this year, and my favorite team is the Bills so I've seen both play my team.
Other than that, this list looks very solid.
Apparently /sp/ cant handle the truth.

i wanted to rate him last. (Giantsfag here). Hes garbage and hes always been garbage. I hate the hype thats been following around a completely unproven quarterback year after year, but i would certainly take him over Jackson, Gabbert or Grossman/Beck

Right? look how mad they are. I think its cute. One reasonable thread and the trolls lose their minds.

To keep it sports related though, I had no choice with Dalton really. In my opinion he's playing better than Newton, or at least winning more than he is, and with the statistics Newton is putting up i couldn't put him that low.

As far as Brady/Manning, Manning beat Brady with at least ten or so injuries to the Giants starting core (Don't know the number offhand but its high.) He was basically playing with his bench vs the NEw England Patriots. And won.

I'm not taking anything away from Brady, he's still an amazing quarterback, no doubt.

Around 11. hes on pace for 4k yards, he has young receivers and he will struggle(Eli his stride January 2008, so it shows it takes time) But you can't ignore all his wins
